A sociopath husband
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
My name is Alesia and I have a husband who I thought (or pretended) was a christian when I married him. Now he displays the most emotionally, spiritually, and mentally draining behavior I have ever encountered. I've asked him to please modify his behavior and asked him "what ever happened to my christian husband' and he just replies "I was temporarily insane." He's selfish, self-absorbed, overly arrogant, greedy, and lies constantly (even about things that are insignificant), and is not affectionate in any way unless there's something in it for him. We married in June of 2011 and after about a month he started changing. I pray daily about this and he just gets worse. Now he's watching religious programs and crossing himself over his food and then curses horribly, taking the Lord's name in vain continuously, and acts so rude that, sometimes, it ruins my dinner. I get swirlings in my stomach when I'm around him and become sick. I'm considering divorce. I need some advice.

Hello Alesia,
God bless you this day.
I'm sorry your marriage has not worked out as you imagined, it truly must be a confusing time for you. If I may ask, how long did you know your husband before marrying him?
I am here if you want to talk. And remember, Jesus loves you so very much.
Prayers are rising to The Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed will be done.
God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Please read the study on divorce on this site - it probably isn't what you think. It talks about the phrase "what God has joined together" and also about what God probably had nothing to do with. Please read it. I wouldn't read it until months after my own divorce, and could have used the comfort earlier.
Hugs,
Dema
