I hope my scales are just being difficult. I don't feel like the readings they are giving me actually reflect what is remotely possible. I would just accept it, but I can get four different weights covering a five pound range all within 60 seconds.

Kimby...

How often do u weigh yourself? Once a week? Try waiting until the end of the month before you weigh. Our weight fluctuates so much every month...daily sometimes. I know I'd be pulling my hair out and get really discouraged if I weighed myself weekly.

Sometimes I don't weigh myself for a couple of weeks...most times though I won't even go near the scale until the end of the month...I don't want it to be about numbers, but about the nutrition and what I am doing to make myself feel better. Numbers not going down on the scale can be frustrating, to say the least.

Right now my weight is sticking at the same weight for the past 3 weeks. I know that I need to get more physically active now-and will see at the end of the month what the numbers "say". Frustrating, you betcha'! But I know that the weight will start to come off again.

Stress has been wreaking havoc on my weight loss. There are days I follow my program to the letter, and other days I snack on foods that I can eat...but at odd hours of the day...Sabotaging myself, I know..then I beat myself up about it for not being more in control.
This too shall pass...the stress will eventually calm down...I just have to keep my mind on what matters.
Love you sis!!....Cheering you on!!!....God Bless you... *hug*

Once a week?!?! Try at least once a day...generally more. I know it fluctuates from day to day and week to week. I think I was lulled into too much hope the first week when it was dropping at least half a pound a day.

I understand the theory behind waiting until the end of the month, but I don't think it would work for me. I need the motivation of seeing the consequences. If I knew I had three weeks before I was going to know my progress, I am afraid I would lack the willpower to do anything right (not like I am having it now...but still!) Also I am afraid I would then have unrealistic expectations. I would think I had lost more than I had and come up very disappointed. Because my current goal is a number I am probably a bit more focused on the scales than I should be. Once I get down to where I want to be before I move, I want the focus to be more on eating right.

I too seem to be stuck...I am fluctuating within about a three pound range that I can't seem to break out of. It is very frustrating. I am eating everything in sight and making excuses for it. Wish I didn't have to admit that, but it is true.

Thank you for your cheers Dais. I have been quite discouraged this week...it feels good to know someone is in my corner.
Love you!

Kimby...I will stay in your corner for however long it takes.

Weight loss is such a mind-bender sometimes. We want to do the "right" thing, and we have times where we "slip up and fall", but you know what, HE loves us regardless. It's now about being able to seek HIM out and ask HIM to direct us and guide us...and do it in a healthy manner. Our obsession with numbers makes us nuts, doesn't it?

For those who've rejected us/made us feel rejected when we gained weight, u know what I say about them? PHOOEY!!!

I needed friends, not people who would make me feel banished to the pits of the earth because of my weight. Those people are not/were not, my friends. I'd rather be around people who like me for me...who God created me to be. If HE is happy with me, that's MORE than good enough for me...and I pray it's more than good enough for you too. :)

My biggest concern with all of us who're walking this path, is that we are eating healthy. And if we're still eating "junk", then I pray it's a smaller amount than what we've been accustomed to(because we all know how hard "old habits" are to break).

I'm trying to get back into exercise. I walked one day last week-1 mile, and tried to stay busy around the house the rest of the week, but by yesterday, I was back to lazing around the house with my nose stuck to the t.v.

Today begins a new day. I've got myself back on track and am making sure I get at least one mile walk in before the night falls. Then tomorrow I'm going to switch up the plan and do another form of exercise(I always loved to dance...I need to turn on the stereo again and "twist and shout"). :)

Keep up the good work....don't focus so much on the numbers...the weight will come off-and you'll be totally surprised, thinking "wow, how did that happen?", especially when you're not focusing on it/obsessing about it as much.

That 3 pound kills me...I've been stuck in a rut with numbers on the scale lately too. I have a few options:
1. Admit I need to make some changes in what I am eating.
2. Not to make it a big deal.
3. Pray about what it is that I am doing, and ask HIM for guidance/peace/forgiveness of myself for not feeling "worthy".
4. Take the scale out to the country and shoot it a few times, then go out and buy a new one.(If I knew how to shoot, I'd have done that already)! Just kidding! Trying to find the humor in something that can make us nuts is one way of my being able to cope with it.

I pray your day is going well. Thinking about you. Still cheering you on....*HUGS*

God Bless you sis!
Daisy
