John's Journal Day 12

Postby humblevisitor » Mon Jun 13, 2011 7:45 am

This step today is the best one I have had so far. The closer I get, the more the enemy steps up his attacks. And the more I need to be weak and rely on the strength of Jesus. It came to my mind that in the book of John, Jesus didn't pray that we would be removed from the world and therefore all temptation and falling. He prayed that we would be protected from the evil one. And where does that protection come from? The Voice of Truth, The Counselor, the Comforter, The Holy Spirit that He sent to us to help us. Its sad sometimes how receptive I am to the lies, and shut out the Holy Spirit. It seems to me the first fall and the one I take most often, is not immediately recognizing the lie and replacing it with the truth. Because once I accept one lie it seems like the rest keep flooding in and its much harder to get back up. So as I'm taught on this path the first thing to do each morning and to repeat continuously is to invite the Holy Spirit into my life and let Him guide me and protect me in the truth.I see too that I have to do my part. I can't keep placing myself in positions where its easy to fall and then be surprised because I do. From the biggest and most obvious ones down to the smallest I have to watch where I am walking and who I am walking with and I think that is going to mean that a lot of this have to go in my life.
Only those who obey can believe and only those who believe can obey.

wow, reading your journal is a blessing John, it gives me lots to think about :) Praying that it becomes easier to recognise and hold to the truth; and also to recognise and let go of the lies and replace them with the truth of God :)
