John's Journal Day 11

Postby humblevisitor » Sun Jun 12, 2011 6:32 pm

I had originally thought to myself I would take today off just because I felt I needed a break. But I need to have disciple. I agreed to do this one day at a time for 14 CONSECUTIVE days so...... Had a great day at church today. The church and the people haven't changes but I can tell I'm beginning to...I'm coming out of hiding again. Joined a Sunday school class today where I had been making excuses that I could not get there on time. Then went back for the church supper tonight and sat and had some good conversations with people who I had told myself that they didn't really want to know me...and they did!
Anyways; the Holy Spirit I have to say is something I never really understood.I have wondered if it was my conscience or the still small voice or what? I had shared with some folks that i have been having talks with Him and tried the pulled out chair method. Still so much to learn and now some to share in the new Holy Spirit journal I am starting. Looking back at today though I believe the Spirit was who impressed upon me the need to become a part of my church and not just an attender. Both with the Sunday school and the dinner I tried (Actually the enemy) to talk me out of going but I BELIEVED this was from God so I went and found out the truth of the matter...that I was more than welcome. So I believe that was the Holy Spirit guiding me and telling me the truth...and I believe it was the Spirit that led me to do my study today.I am glad I listened and obeyed.
