Do they also curse themselves. should we have control of our tongue at all times. PSALM 34; 13- 14

God has much to say about the tiny tongue, doesn't he? I think my mouth was the hardest thing for me. It actually began for me in my mind.....I had to change what I was thinking before I could change my mouth. That meant using the Word instead of my words.

The verse that helped me the most was Psalm 19:14:
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

I believe a christian not only defiles themselves when they curse, but other christians and, most importantly, Jesus. But I also think God understands when we are trying to change and slip up.

Thank God we can repent and remain the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Blessings, bonnie *hug*

Kimber, that verse also has helped me throughout the years...

Growing up, we had a husband and wife pastor team at the Methodist church my family attended. For many years that was the last scripture, for the Benediction, that he said, so it stuck with me :) I too, have had issues with my mouth which if I wanted to could blame on my father growing up but I know that's not fair.

And I also agree that He KNOWS when we are really trying to clean up that mouth and tame the tongue!

GBU and luv ya both, ladies!
