Pleading the blood of Christ
I hear from time to time people saying they plead the blood over something. I felt I have very little idea what power is behind it.
I know there was more to it than I knew.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. - Ephesians 1:7
When Jesus took the Communion cup in the upper room, He said, Take this and drink it. This is the new covenant in My blood, ratified for you.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

As far as "Covering sins" is concerned , in comparison of what our Lord is meaning by "Drinking of this Cup" , in my opinion and according to my understanding are two distinct and different things altogether .
1) The "covering" of sins , sins are NOT covered , they are wiped out , poof !! Our Lord God said "I will NEVER remember them again" (unless of course we constantly remind Him ourselves by repetition) .
It was Adam and Eve , in an effort to COVER their nakedness -Shame-Sin-Disobedience) - They had to kill an animal and cover themselves with its pelt . Genesis . Hence the first bloodshed - to cover sin . Doesn't make sense does it ? (at least it don't me)
2) He that drinks of this cup enters a new covenent with Me ... As partakers of My Mission . My term ? "DO as I DO" I came TO Forgive ... A New Covenent I leave with you , Love your neighbour as you would yourself , and/or 'As I had Loved you' .
3) "Cutting" ?? Absolute Shenanigan using Scripture as lame excuse for distructive behaviour .
In Christ , our Lord

Maybe I didn't explain my thoughts well Vahn. No one is using scripture to make an excuse for any behavior.

Oh Vahn no apologies needed. I really struggle to put words to my thoughts and so often what I'm thinking isn't made clear.
Love ya.

From The Word Library
Pleading the blood simply means applying the blood to our life and circumstances just like the Israelites applied it to their door posts and were protected from the destroyer (Exodus 12).
Pleading the blood is simply the taking hold of the authority and power available to us by the death and resurrection of Jesus.
