Never forget that we ALL fall down as we sojourn down this Christian Walk. The trick is to get up and carry on fighting the good fight of FAITH. One of the greatest gifts that our Father gave to Christians is ... Fellow Christians. James 5:16 ... Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. Step 8 and 9. Movie and CCCC chat lots goin on

Postby UpSide413 » Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:51 pm

Well, haven't journaled today and thought I would just slip it all in here together.... I know you think lazy... Well you're right..
Bout had a shouting spell with step 8. "the Problem is not me, it is the "enemy of my soul that's the source of my problem". I understand that doesn't take the responsibility off me when allowing thoughts to take hold and then become sin. But it does mean I am not defined by my problem!!! And if the problem comes from an outside source, then PTL I can get rid of it. Weed pulling isn't easy! One of my Miracle Grow chart items is to meditate 5 min a day. That's what I devote that 5 min to. Pulling weeds and getting rid of them. I do have to say, that I have had to pull some of the same ones over again. (didn't get all the roots) I try to open my mind and let God bring the things to mind that I need to get rid of. Past and current hurts, resentment, anger, GUILT, and to remember to forgive.
Step 9, well CO done gone to "meddling" heheh. not really. Just a good ole term used when preacher hits on a spot you don't want to deal with. Getting rid of any and ALL things that would come between me and God. Things that do not glorify Him.
4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Lord, help me to do this. Help me to clear out all the "junk" and replace it with "God Stuff". In Jesus Name
Apocalypse the movie was pretty good. My first movie night with CO. I really think it could happen like that. Good flick! popcorn lacked a little, but on a diet anyway! *Pray*
Pine did such an awesome job tonight with the CCCC chat moderation. Good discussion, good fellowship, good spirit. Thank You God.
Thank you God for bringing me to CO. All have been such a blessing and the love, encouragement, and Your presences is so real. Thank You. In Jesus name. Amen

UPS!!!

Great post!!! You do such a good job of capturing the emotions and the spirit in your writing. Whether you are rejoicing, confessing, crying, or laughing, we can feel it. And we share it with you. And we pray with you.

Thank you for reminding us that even though the summer is coming to an end, we need to make sure to pull the weeds completing. Getting all of the roots, lest they spring forth again.

Thank you again for your post.

Another Stepping stone on the path

Postby UpSide413 » Fri Aug 27, 2010 11:25 pm

Hey gang... Thanks so much for the friendly posts and encouragement!! *Clap*
Step 10 is on prayer. I've never really been a "long pray-er", but now I'm trying to stay on the line all day. You know start the call first thing in the morning and not hang up till night. I'm not saying I talk to God constantly, but when little things happen all thru the day, I'm saying TY Jesus. Someone comes to mind that needs prayer, I just ask while I'm working. Lord, please send healing and comfort to them. I try to use my knelling prayer time to just Praise Him for all He has done, is doing and will do in my life. woooo hoooo TY Jesus!!
I know I have a long ways to go and the journey will not be complete until I am with the Savior, but I like to think I am pressing toward the mark!
Thank You God for Your love, mercy, grace and salvation!! Thank You so much for Christianity Oasis. Lord You lead me here just at the right time. Thank You for my new Christian sisters and brothers here and the ministry CO has. All things in Your timing. I love you Lord. In Jesus name amen.
Feels so good to write down all the stuffs that has been built up for years. TY Jesus.
In Christ

Rough Days - But God will come through

Postby UpSide413 » Sun Aug 29, 2010 9:49 pm

I'm working out of town trying to visit with sis too. Her cancer has metastasized through the liver and other organs. She is in sooooo much pain. I so wish I could help her. She really can't talk to her hubby or Mom because they start crying right away. I told her I would be here for her and would listen if she needed to talk. I'll cry later... She is my best friend and sister so I owe her that much.
Please pray for sis, me and the rest of my family. I'm trying to continue on with my steps, but here it is almost 11:00 and I haven't done half of my chart and haven't done my step today. Oh and got a bug on my puter that took me 16 hours to get rid of and still dealing with a few problems.
Watched Charles Stanley this morning. What a message at the right time. God of Comfort!
Anyway, not complaining. Just please pray for me and my family.
Thanks so much
Love to All!

Ah, Upside.

Please know that your Oasis family is agreeing together with you in prayer for you, your sister and your entire family. Remember it is when we are at our weakest that He comes through the most with His strength. His Word says in my weakness I'm made strong. Also know that we are believing for comfort, peace, and rest for your entire family.

Lots of love and prayers coming your way.

Love

Been gone tooooo long!!

Postby UpSide413 » Sun Sep 12, 2010 7:30 am

Hi All,
I've been out of commission for toooooo long. You know when you're not close to the fire, you get cold. That is exactly what happened to me. Traveling, sickness, moving, computer problems all put me back almost to the beginning!! Sorry I haven't been here to love and encourage you guys they way you have been there for me. But now I know that CO is my link to more than just good people, it is my link to stay connected to the ONE! The One who can keep me and love me more than any other. The One who forgives all and wants all who will come.
Oh God, please forgive my backsliding and getting cold. I know now no matter what I have to stay connected to You and to CO. This group is my church and helps me along the way. Give me the strength to "clean up" my heart which will trickle down to my whole body!
I'm going to review all the steps up to 11, that's where I left off. Then back to it.
God is the "ladder" out of the pit, I just have to put one foot in front of the other to climb out. Isn't He SOOOO Awesome!!

Upside...you show an example here of God's grace. At times, all Christians slide backwards...it's because the enemy is always there looking for his moment to stick his foot in the door...I'm sorry he found it with you...but in the same sense I'm glad you have found your way back and are getting up and back to where God wants you to be. Jesus loves you very much...and He forgives you as well.

Take care and God Bless
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Going Back to the Beginning!!

Postby UpSide413 » Thu Sep 16, 2010 6:53 am

Got up this morning determined never to go back!! I've drifted away from God and CO started my bad habits again. Isn't it so ironic that it takes steady forward movement to be close to God, but just standing still will take you way back! Lots of things going on in my life, but I was so happy even in the midst when I was keeping up with my steps and fellowship with all of you. Please, pray for me, that I will continue forward on "my journey".
Woke up this morning with this thought about my husband: Expect nothing and receive anything is better than to expect anything and receive nothing!! That is what I plan on drilling into my brain. I have to draw on Gods love and let that be enough. Lord help me! God, You are so awesome and Your love knows no boundaries! Fill me with Your love, and let that Love flow out from me.
Well I'm going back to step 1 since I didn't complete them all. I think that is better than starting right in the middle. I think the steps are designed to build up one after the other. I'll go back and review my previous posts and hopefully get back to where I was, THEN move on up and forward.
Love to All
