the wind came and settled in the tree
Hello Everyone,
God bless you this day.
The Holy Spirit of God communicates with us in multiple ways. Recently, He communicated with me in a new way, and it was awesome.
I was sitting out on my back, screened, porch, nestled in a chair close to the right side of the porch, where a smoke tree has grown and wrapped itself around the outside of that side of the porch -- as if to hug it. I love sitting there, watching birds and squirrels up close and personal, with only a screen between us. I was looking straight ahead, out onto the backyard, when suddenly a whoosh of wind -- came from behind and seemed to settle in the tree, like an invisible bird. It's sound made me look, but I saw nothing, but I knew it was there. Then He spoke, in that familiar voice, but in-audible to the physical ears. "Sharing The Word is similar to making bread, don't overwork the dough or it will make it tough and hard to eat." And then He was gone.
I sat there for a moment just staring into the tree's branches. A person's name came into my mind, and it was someone that both my husband and I have been praying for. I knew the message was for him.
This particular person loves the Lord and His Word, but the enemy of our souls often tricks him into thinking he needs to bust the chops of his brothers and sisters in Christ, with The Word -- particularly those who are not as well versed in the scriptures as he.
The Word of God often corrects, no doubt. God is Good and He corrects those He loves. One of the awesome workings of The Holy Spirit is to correct without condemnation. The Lord is perfect at it. We, on the other hand, are not perfect, and can be tempted (by the enemy) to hit others over their heads with our Bibles, because our patience is in training, and our egos large.
For those that do not make homemade bread: It's important not to overwork, over knead or over handle the dough. If we put too much contact (heat and pressure) on the dough (too much of us in the dough), it can change how the components of each ingredient reacts within the recipe.
The same goes when we share The Word. More of Him, and less of us. His Word is sufficient unto Itself, and His grace is sufficient.
As Oasis often shares: our brothers and sisters in Christ, are not our enemies nor our pin-cushions. They are His children. Share in Love.
Just as we can trust God and Jesus, we can trust The Holy Spirit too.
I love all the ways in which The Holy Spirit communicates with me. He is full of blessed surprises, and never boring. Oh, how I love Him!!! He's my best Friend.
God bless and keep you all.
Love,
Mack

I like that Mack! Thanks for sharing.
I love when you share with us.
Don't over kneed the dough. Like it!

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.
