Day 3 - Undeserved and Unmerritted Favor

Postby Guest » Sat May 22, 2010 12:57 pm

This is where I am stuck... Help I have fallen and I can't get back up or should say having a very tremendous time getting back up... even knowing the TRUTH that God's grace is undeserved... However, I feel an anticipation with the support and encouragement I am finding here. By the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of my testimony, I will rise again and I pray that when I do it will be with a greater strength and resolve then before I fell. Lord, renew a right heart within me and giving me willing spirit to believe, receive, and get back up and FIGHT the Good Fight of faith...

There was one thing I read today in Step 3 about God killing King David's son... that quote bothered me. Because God gives and brings life... It's the enemy that comes to steal, kill & destory. I believe the Lord allowed King David's son to die because of the consequences of his sins. However, I do not believe that God killed him, because that is not the God I know.

Hey rosebud...I'm so glad that you see that God's grace doesn't come from us having to earn it...but that it is freely given as long as we are willing to accept it. God loves you rosebud...and He wants to renew His friendship with you. Keep spending time with Him...and following His ways.

Rosebud...you are right...God gives us life and He also takes our life...but death is also the result of sin...and it is through ones sinful nature that death takes hold...however the way that one dies is also God's choice...and we accept that the Bible says that David's baby died from an illness...and the illness was what led to His death. But it was God's will that the baby perished. Not sure I agree with saying God killed the baby either...but God did allow the baby's death.

luv ya
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Hiya Rosebud..

so good to see you again! Its not easy to get back up...but youre right..thats IS what His Grace is all about. In all the healings of the new testament, when Jesus healed..He told them to rise and move...to wherever it was He sent them. Theres a great message in that...rise and move from where you are..off of the ground...out of the bed of lies...move forward..away from the place of illness..and we all have to do more often than not. He knows our humanity.

Keep going girl. Draw on His strength..and depend and lean on Him knowing that His truth is the only truth.

In Jesus,
love momo *Halo*

It is clear that GOD struck the child with the illness and it was prophesied that the child would die ...

2 Samuel 12:14-15 ... Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.

However ... I am in agreement that the wording could be different as to not negatively affect the walk of any soul, so it has been changed to:

David was punished, by the death of the child that Bathsheba conceived by him, and God forgave David of this sin.

The most important aspect is God's forgiveness and Grace when we repent..

2 Samuel 12:13 ... And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

Luv ya
