Being called to me is a very HUMBLING experience. How can God use someone like me? Only because HE loves me...it is nothing I have done or will do it is what He is doing and Has done in me.
I think the way that I know that I am called is that I have been where some of the people have been. I feel their hurts. I hear their cries.
My heart breaks for some people.
Did I choose to feel all this...NO!!!!!!! It is a compassion that he has placed in my heart for the lonely and hurting. For me....I would rather be here helping those that are hurting than I would to eat.
God has placed a desire in me to listen and to share with others.
I am not called because I decided I wanted to help others .... but because He has chosen to use me. I am just the vessel that is willing.
Being called to me means that no matter what is going on with me....there are others that need to hear about God's love and I may be the only light they so...so I had better be the light that He has chosen for me to be.
It is not what I can do for Him....but what He is done for you and for me. It is not I that lives but it is He that lives in me. To rise in the morning and to lay down at night with a desire to help those that are hurting would be being called.
I hope what I am trying to say is making sense here.
It is not what I have done...but what He through me is doing.

Amazing Grace How Sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me....I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see.

Lord help them to see you!
Even in the hardest of times...He is there holding our hand

The drawing (pulling) with in me that creates an excitement.

He is always bringing to thought someone who need prayer.

Looking back I see how changes in my life aligned so that I did a google search which led me here.

It's amazing how he uses tragedy to bring good to His children. *angelbounce*

I see how he's done that for so many! God is really cool like that.

Being called sounds like such a holier than thou thing. But aren't we called to be servants. Jesus came and washed feet. How much more should we be washing feet. Even those of our enemy. After all we are to love them.

So anytime I fail to wash the feet of another, I've failed my calling. Good thing he has plenty of grace to cover all my failings.
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

How do you know you are called? Well for me...I didn't know it at the time...that I was "called"...I just felt the need to tell everyone I encountered about the love Jesus has for them...I wanted others to know what Jesus had done for me...because I had done so many awful things before I met Him...and yet He still forgave me...and if He can do that for me...He can do that for anyone...and I wanted them to have what I have.

The signs and symptoms...feeling someone's hurt and pain is what mine were...I remember when I was first called I would sit in chat and listen to people's stories of their struggles and I would cry...wishing I could do something anything to take away their pain...and then I would begin to share with them about Jesus and His love for them..the power they could have and after spending days and hours I'd begin to see changes in them...and I remember how people would say...you are so gifted...and I'd think...gifted with what...I'm just a normal everyday person who sins and does things that aren't so pleasing to God...and you think I'm gifted?...then Oasis would push me to do things for God...and I remember the first program I ever did here...ditto came and asked me if I would be interested...I was so nervous and unsure and I made a lot of mistakes...but it was then that I knew...I loved working for God and sharing with the sheep.
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Acts 20:28
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with his own blood.

Peter shares a lil tip with us ...

1 Peter 5:2-4
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
Jesus is coming ... Get your soul prepared.

The first part of my answer comes very easy..
I believe the word of God is God inspired. Because of this I know I am commanded by Jesus to go out into all the world and preach the good news. We are each called to this. Any one who is call them selves a christian is called to this.

My heart, soul, mind, and body belong to God. Because of this he calls through his spirit to my spirit have mercy, have compassion, have love, give away all that you have, die to self and follow me. And because I belong to him my spirit always answers with yea, and amen Lord.

I am not my own but I am a servant of the Most High God, I call him Abba Father. He whispers to me "If you love me feed my sheep" It is not me that sees the lost and am driven to reach out to them with love, compassion, mercy, and forgiveness, but he who lives with in me.
It is not me that hears the cries of the lost and hurt and am driven to comfort, protect, and defend.. It is he who lives with in me.

I am not my own, but bought and paid for through the blood of Jesus Christ, my first love. It is that deep unexplainable love Spirit to spirit that creates in me love, forgiveness, mercy, compassion, and need to care, to nourish, to lead and tell the world of my savior.
My love, my compassion, my mercy, my care, and my forgiveness could not and never will be the reason nor can it save one soul. I am not my own, it is he who lives within me it his love, mercy, compassion, care, forgiveness only that can save a soul.

I hope I have answer this question where it is understood. Why I know I am called

I know because no matter what I'm doing, suddenly -- yet silently -- I hear Him.

Like Buck, the part St. Bernard and part German Shepherd dog, suddenly he would get a "call of the wild", and he knew that he needed to go -- to leave the norm.

Love,
Mack

We are all called to serve Him, who is sooo worthy to be served . To me its "why did He choose me?" And how can I serve HIm to show my gratitude to my King.

Its a yearning in my soul. I know our Daddy yearns to be in relationship with each and every one of us. So when I see others who is not in relationship with Him, it saddens me because I know it saddens my Pops.

Let no schism seperate us from the Love of Him who adores each and every one of us.

So i love to reach out and surprise people who least expect it and dont feel worthy of His love and let them know that they are loved deeply by our Daddy.

Its a yearning, a pulling, a nudging, its that relationship between me and my Daddy that i say "Dad instead of me asking you for things, what can I do for You today?" How can i bless You today? Who do you want me to reach to? Whos life do you want to touch and my King i am your vessel. Use me to do your will because your will is so much more perfect than mine.

So i serve because I adore Him and love to see His people reunited in relationship with their Daddy.

Love you all

God bless

i know that i am called....

Postby huelsingbroad » Tue May 25, 2010 9:21 pm

as others recognized this long before i was able. as a child i had i hunger for the Word of God and for holiness.
the bible was always the end of a thing. if the word said it, that's all that needed to be said.
today, i still feel that the bible should have the final say and those that have backslidden are of particular interest.
i want them to realize that whatever they have done can be cleansed in the flow from the cross, and Jesus wants them to come home.
