It's important that you always remember that the Holy Spirit has various gifts for each and every person in the Body of Christ, and God has a specified purpose for each of us when He calls.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will.

You may not have the gift of prophecy like another of God's servants, but you may know how to counsel someone with a drug problem like nobody's business.

There are different administrations ...

1 Corinthians 12:27-31
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

So discerning what administration you are called to perform is IMPORTANT.


What administration(s) do you feel the Lord has Called you to do?

What administration am I called to...I know I am called to teaching and to helps...and with helps that can be anything from feeding the sheep to protecting the sheep. My gifts would be wisdom(as others have told me even though I don't always feel so wise), faith(very strong in my faith), discerning of spirits(this is great in helping the hurting and protecting the sheep). I have a gift of working with the hurting...not sure what that is called though as far as a gift maybe that goes under healing...but I'm not really sure.

Now...here's a secret...I have always wished I had the gift of prophecy...but alas...I don't...as the Holy Spirit gave me other gifts that He deemed would bring Him the most glory through me.

I think that not having certain gifts is what makes us as the Body of Christ interdependent on one another...because for what gifts we don't have another does and for what they don't have we may have...and we rely on all the gifts to make the Body and to do God's work.

At the old church I went to we took a test to see what out calling was....Mine was helps and teaching. I love to be a servant. I am most happy when I am helping people. When teaching childrens church..being the lead teacher was such an honor, (I so miss that) it always amazed me when I felt at a lost for words that the Holy Spirit would give me the words to say......
Bottom line is that I love serving God in anyway that I can!

Hello Brother

I know I have the gift of intercessory prayer.

Which I just love because I can go into battle when I'm here or when I'm not here and know through his leading just what the person needs and at times what the person is even feeling. I love the way God works like that and I'm so very humbled that he'd share this with me.

He's begun to show me not only the struggle someone is feeling but the child with in then as well. That is so very cool! Brings a completely different aspect to the chat room and those in the counseling forums.

Some thing else I see Him building in me is faith. Faith enough to stand in the presence of evil and not fear. This type of faith....

Mark 16:18
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Is that a calling or a gift. Or a gift He's calling me to use.

Well what ever they are they are of Him, given to me because of His grace and His desire to reach another and if he can use a donkey to open someones eyes then he sure can use me to. After all He is God.

My gift, is that of bringing about joy.. a laugh.. a tickle... in opening a heart that normally sits and ponders. Sits in silence afraid of the world that God has for them to receive.

I know at times some have thought my methods , less than perhaps suitalble. and to that I can only say, perhaps it your heart you need to look at. I see the fruits of my labor, and so does God to Him Ill answer.

I've been reading some about all the division in the overseers, its not there. we just have a new flock comming at us that are a bit more wise than we. Their problems are more complex, and they are found dug in deep into a world we haven't a clue about. So we should allow God to work His way thru for us all... and be ready when they are to lead them into the fold. and into the ways of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God Bless us all in our walk, Pray God is with us as we lead and as said be thankful we all arnt the same part of the body...

i dont know which gift it would be listed under, but i know He has given me a love and desire for people..the lost and the ones who are so buried in their past hurts that they cant see His mercy and grace and love for them.

He has also given me the gift of discernment..and discerning spirits. He has given me words of knowledge alot of times, too, when the situation calls for it..as in when He wants me to pray for someone or councel with them.

It is very very humbling knowing who I am, and who He is..to understand that He would use someone like me in any way at all to further His Kingdom. AMAZING GRACE..is what it's all about. It's all about Him and His love for His kids. To think..that WE are His desire....and He wants all of His kids to know it.

Well considering the fact that Spiritual malady - deficiency - illness - disease - lack of - hunger - thirst - just to name a few , is the core essence and underlying "cause" of all addictions , and in addition , my being an addict and alcoholic having found freedom from them by Spiritual means , I can safely say that my calling is to bring The Spirit to the still suffering alkie or the dope-fiend .
Yes I am fully aware of "recovery" from any addiction is not listed in the "prophecy - tongues and preachin and teachin -list " But recovery through the Spirit , (the filling of the hole in the pit of one's stomach , that only God can fill) ...

as a teen, i believed that i had to have the gift of tongues to be filled with the spirit, but Paul told us to seek the more earnest gifts which edify the church instead. i did recieve the gift of tongues(certainly to help me pray, and to edify). short time ago, the spirit spoke to me that i had been given the gift of exhortation, which has been confirmed since in numerous ways. although the gift of prophecy has only manifested itself one time, i believe that as i excercise those gifts, they too will become as "natural" to my inner man as tongues is for me now.
i have gone to great lengths to find out where i fit in in the body, and this journey has always led me to the bible. the things i gravitate toward naturally are partly because of my giftings
