Ok, I'm just gonna let er rip! Been a Christian for 16 years. Served God at the county jail, in church, with bus ministry, loved God with all my heart, loved my neighbor, worshipped daily, the whole nine yards! Havent' been to church hardly at all in 6 months because I just can't force myself. Haven't prayed, haven't read my Bible for the same reason. Don't want to listen to Christian music anymore, because the other kind just seems to comfort me more. I have no desire for God or the things of God anymore. Sad but true. Depression has always plagued me all of my life. I am tired of not knowing whether or not I am going to want to live every day when I wake up.

no sister amy, you are most definitely not done. And make no mistake, God is not done with YOU.

Im not at all about wanting to make people do things they just dont wanna do, but in this situation I must say that even when we dont feel like it, even when the desire within us is but a mere shadow of what it used to be, we must keep at it in our service and relationship with God. Because in doing so we give God the opportunity to fan that little ember within us. To not do so is to allow it to die out.

Amy you are a wonderful soldier for God. I have admired you since we met here a few years ago for your dedication and devotion. But we your family in Christ know that no one is perfect. We all have difficulties and down times and we must never be afraid to admit we are weak, because it is in our weakness that God is able to work mighty things.

Sister amy, you may not feel like getting out of bed some mornings, but there are people out there who depend on you to bring a smile to their face and hope to their hearts. You are needed amy.

If your depression is beyond control, i do urge you to seek help in this area as I know quite a few who have battled this and gotten help and were able to overcome. All things are possible with God. Dont give up on Him amy, because God has not given up on you.

You say its always been there... yet look at what God has accomplished through you even tho. It may plague you, but it is not stronger than He who is within you. And it most certainly doesnt define who you are in Christ.

Hi Amy...sis...you remember how Paul always had a thorn in his side...and He asked God to take it from Him...but yet God left the thorn? I wonder if this depression you've had all your life might feel kinda like that thorn Paul had in His side...

Sis...the one thing about that thorn though...Paul never allowed it to get the best of Him...nor did He stop serving the Lord...He fought on and never game up...and He knew finishing the race strong was the only way to go....

Amy...it's time to finish the race strong sis...God's got lots more for you to do...how about you step out tonight and come to COOL Church...time to get back to work for Jesus...the One I know you love.

Thanks Lizzie! I have not found God to be stronger than the depression lately, I even went to the stress center a couple of weeks ago because I was scared to even be with myself. I know it sounds strange, but, it's true. I hope God will hold onto me long enough for me to find my way back to Him. I can't seem to pray or worship, the depression is so deep.

Cool Church begins at 8 EST or 7 CST...I think 7 is right for you. I look forward to seeing you there...you can do this sis...and by the way...God is right there beside you...He will never leave you nor forsake you.

I used to be so close to Him. I am so far from Him right now. I can't seem to stand to listen to praise and worship music anymore and that is all I ever listened to for so long. The music from back in the day seems to give me the most comfort. I think if I ever make it up this mountain, I could probably do anything. But, everytime I look at the mountain it just gets bigger and bigger. If indeed God saved me 16 yrs ago in the LA County Jail, He didn't save me for a life like this.
