Church News
Today I received the weekly newsletter from my church via email. Below is a portion that I would like to share with you.
Can you think of a better time of the year than Christmas? People getting ready for company. The year is wrapping up. A new year is coming. The anticipation builds in the children all around us. Everything seems to change at Christmas: Work Schedules; Entertainment choices; Time management decisions; Financial plans. It all changes, some good and some bad. But it all changes.
That word may describe the first Christmas better than any other word. "Change." Everything changed that night when God became Man. Some resisted and some embraced the change, but no one could stop it from happening. The God of the universe cleaved History in two as He began restoring a broken creation.
You might find that change has been knocking on your door. It won't go away. But you can determine how you will respond to it. Just as God was at work when the "Word" became flesh, He is still working today. Even as things change, God is using it and directing it for His good and we get to be a part of it. Look around! Instead of lamenting the loss of the past, look at the incredible potential for God's unchangeable work to flourish. Build your sense of anticipation as God unwraps His plan. Christmas is coming. And God is at work. Let's celebrate!
