"beauty of the lilies" and new poem Dec. 22
beauty of the lillies
and the daisies
wedding-light
kissing mist
upon the waters
of the harbor
filtered sunshine
sharing caring
warmly daring
glances of the
dancing waves
washing in the foam
t-i-c-k-l-i-n-g
bubbles
in my troubles
"in the presence
of my enemies"
I have this table
before me
and the daisies
wedding-light
kissing mist
upon the waters
of the harbor
filtered sunshine
sharing caring
warmly daring
glances of the
dancing waves
washing in the foam
t-i-c-k-l-i-n-g
bubbles
in my troubles
"in the presence
of my enemies"
I have this table
before me

ah-oo, ah-oo - - - out go the signals
. . . . . . . of the submarine
going deeper, sending sonar sounds . . .
. . . . . . . . saying to God,
"I'll go wherever You want,
. . . please take me the way You please to ease me."
Deeper than words, communicating >
"Deep calls unto deep" (in Psalm 42:7)
"with groanings which cannot be uttered" (in Romans 8:26)
"praying in the Holy Spirit,
. . . keep yourselves in the love of God" (Jude 20-21)
"the love of God has been
. . . poured out in our hearts
. . . . .by the Holy Spirit
. . . . . . . . . . who was given to us." (in Romans 5:5)
"we shall be saved by His life." (in Romans 5:10)
"And this I pray, that your love
. . . may abound still more and more
. . . . . . .in knowledge and all discernment." (Philippians 1:9)
In God's love, we get our signals right >
. . .in Your love, we have
. . . . . Your "knowledge and all discernment"
. . . . . . . all the time as we
. . . .stay sensitive with You
in Your peace ruling us >
. . . "And let the peace of God
. . . . . . rule in your hearts,
. . . . .to which also you were
. . . . . . called in one body;
. . . . . . . . . . . and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
In Your peace, how You
. . . . feed us to see things,
. . . enjoy You and Your
. . . . . .guiding mysterious
. . . . . . . . .beyond what we know,
. . . . .even each moment
. . . . . . . . like how the disciples with Jesus
. . . were constantly discovering
. . . . . . what He would do, next.
So, we are not just pre-planned
. . . in a one-size-fits-all tin can (o:
but in this sonar submarine flowing
. easily and breezily and beautifully

"The Snow Job"
Now that I am at the top of the hill,
my face is being stung by
swarms of snowflakes busy making
the hilltop's bedtime blanket of white;
and there . . . down in the distant night . . .
I see a light and it is getting bigger,
then it splits into two lights;
so it is getting closer, coming at me.
Then I hear the mighty engine's
rumbling accompanied by a muffled
grumbling of the blade on asphault as it is
tumbling dirt and snow out of the way.
So, no . . . it's not a ghost, but
the WOW-plow passing by (o:
But it is coming right toward me;
so I scurry and stumble
to get out of the way,
then wade up to my thighs
in the roadside snowdrift . . .
where I am still
right in the path of that swath.
But the truck turns out and around me,
then *stops* (all that power and authority,
and He s-t-o-p-p-e-d, for *me*!!).
The passenger door swings open,
"Come-ON, get IN!" he calls;
so I hurry to the door,
then need to kneel before
I can crawl and haul myself
up into the passenger seat;
then I am kissed by
the warmth of the cab,
plus treated to the intriquing delight
of seeing all that blowing coldness
of this world's flaky snow job
*now* being bounced from
right before my eyes,
while I just rest and ride,
with the Master at the wheel.
