Day 2

Postby inHishands » Tue Oct 20, 2009 2:48 pm

Step 2 requires me to pull the weeds out of my garden so that I may clear room in order to lay down the stepping stones...it asked me to ponder what negative seeds have been planted in my mind that I no longer want within my spiritual garden...

Anger, disgust, deceit, lust, greed, are just some of the seeds that have been planted. I constantly fight with myself to keep these thoughts out of my head and out of my heart. I pray constantly for God to change my heart, to clear my head and not allow me to think this way. I pray for Him to give me His eyes, His heart, His way of thinking so that I don't let Him down. I try sooo hard to be better, but the thoughts creep back in. I've gotten better with some, but others are so much harder.

How do you keep your thoughts pure? How do you keep from feeling like God is looking down and shaking his head in disappointment? I want Him to be proud of me. I want to feel like He's proud of me.

I have this feeling in my heart, where it's like there's a tourniquet around it. Like something is preventing me from breathing. I inhale deeply and it hurts not only physically but spiritually. I NEED JESUS IN MY HEART! I don't want to feel this way any more. *help*

You do not feel him smile on you because you are focused on what you've done instead of what he did.

You have some issues to work on. Work in progress. This does not keep you from obtaining his mercy and grace. If we didn't receive forgiveness till we were perfect we wouldn't need his forgiveness. ;)

*makes note to self*

Gods forgiveness is immediate, and complete.

Hi again sis. So off to step 2 huh? Learning to pull those pesky weeds and replace them with seeds of goodness. Sometimes we look through our garden gate and see years of weeds built up over time. The best way to remove these weeds is one at a time. If you try and pull too many at once, it's very difficult, but one at a time...you can get them up by the roots. Just remember Jesus is a great weed eater, and He wants to help you get rid of them as well. Call upon Him and He will be there.

How do you keep pure thoughts? Well it takes work. When you catch yourself thinking things that are harmful, immediately turn your focus to good things. Sometimes singing a Christian song, praying or reading the Bible will help. Also impure thoughts are weeds, and sometimes when you think you have pulled a weed, it's twin pops up, or that same weed had a root left and reappears....when this happens pull that bad boy out again. One weed at a time.

Jesus heard your cry sis. He wants to be in your heart. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins. And in turn love Jesus, because He already loves you. Believe in Him, and He will know you always.

Keep with the steps.

luv ya

hey sis, i cant tell you how many times ive thought of God as distant, angry and disgusted with me. Remember, that just isnt Who He is. What we have been taught in this world is not what He is. His way are different than ours, and His thoughts are different, including His thoughts toward us. He sees us as precious enough to die for.....and did. And if you were the only one He had to die for, He would have, out of His love for you.

Keep seeking. He is showing you things He wants to work on in ya. Keep going....He has so much more to show you and love you in.

in Jesus,
love momo *Halo*

Thank you so much for all of your responses. I feel like a weight is lifted off with every message and ever posted verse of the bible. I have been listening to Christian music alot. In the car and at work. I'm doing everything possible to keep my thoughts clean and on Him. I'm looking forward to seeing how God is going to change my life for good. Praise God and God Bless all of you.

Love and Blessings,
