They're Watching What????
Not many people realize that even in watching a kids show, you can learn so much. TV influences most of what children do these days..for example...my 12 year old sister was watching Disney and Nick and she started copying what they were doing....jumping up and down, cheering, singing, etc....while on the other hand, my 4 year old brother was sitting there calling someone stupid because he heard it on one of the shows. These children see things and continue to remember them, whether its showing out in school, cursing, calling names, etc.
You are having to be more and more careful about what your children watch these days. Whether on a kids show, or adult, you should be mindful to what they are hearing and think twice about what you let them watch.
I know that if i could go back in time and change some of the things ive learned and watched, i would. i am ashamed of some of the things I have seen. But I also know that if it werent for me watching them, i wouldnt have posted this.
Maybe this will make you think twice....

Kids show aimed at adults. Yes, I watch it alot. Loves me some Sponge and Patrick.
The ones that get me are Pokemon and Dragonball. There are some others that I cant remember the name also. What I'm getting at......Some of these "kids shows" are violent.I have no children. But I have 2 great-nephews and twin nieces. I just wonder exactly what these 4 are picking up from this. I watch Disney and Nick alot. I see what they see. Some of these shows tens to bring some grown up stuff into play. Don't get me wrong. Some of the messages brought forth can be a good thing as far as learning how to deal with things. Makes me think of the old after school specials form back in the day.
Why can't cartoons and the like be like they were when we were little. Buggs Bunny and Mickey Mouse. Bullwinkle and Popeye. Scooby-Doo and Fred Flintstone. Good stuff. Funny stuff.
Guess I'm showing my age now huh????

I totally agree with you guys. I watched a movie I hadn't seen in forever Matilda, and realized how many bad things were in it. The names the kids are called, the violence, and the abuse. It's disturbing how they make children's movies so horrible to the point that their kids cannot even watch them.

I know this is an old thread but I had to add.
Do you remember all the violence in some of those old cartoons? Poor Daffy Duck getting his bill shot off, anvils being dropped on Wile E Coyote, Boris Badenough getting blown up, Popeye was always getting into fights, Scooby getting chased by ghosts and monsters, Fred having boulders dropped on his toe and those poor Little Rascals...it's a wonder we turned out okay.
It is better to light a candle then curse the darkness
