ARE YOU
DISTRACTED?

READ:
Luke 10:38-40

Martha was distracted
with much serving.
__Luke 10:40
______________________________________________________

In data collected from over 20,000 Christians in 139 countries, The Obstacles to Growth Survey found that, on average, more than 40 percent of Christians around the world say they "often" or "always" rush from task to task. About 60 percent of Christians say that it's "often" or "always true that the busyness of life gets in the way of developing their relationship with God. It's clear that busyness does distract us from our fellowship with Him.

It seems that Martha too allowed busyness to distract her from spending time with Jesus. When she welcomed Him and His disciples into her home, she was occupied with preparing the food, washing their feet, and making sure they were comfortable. All of these things had to be done, but Luke seems to intimate that Martha's busyness in preparation degenerated into busywork that distracted her from reflecting on Jesus' words and enjoying time with Him (Luke 10:38-42).

What about us? Are we rushing from task to task, allowing the busyness of life and even work for Jesus to distract us from enjoying sweet fellowship with Him? Let's ask God to help us diminish our distractions by making Jesus our focus. __Marvin Williams

************Today's Bible Reading _ Luke 10:38-42***************

38 Now it happened as they
went that He entered a
certain village; and a
certain woman named
Martha welcomed Him into
her house. 39 And she had a
sister called Mary, who also
sat at Jesus' feet and heard
His word. 40 But Martha
was distracted with much
serving, and she approacehd
Him and said, "Lord, do
You not care that my sister
has left me to serve alone?
Therefore tell her to help
me."

41 And Jesus answered and
said to her, "Martha,
Martha, you are worried
and troubled about many
things. 42 But one thing is
needed, and Mary has
chosen that good part,
which will not be taken
away from her."

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>INSIGHT<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Martha was lovingly rebuked by Christ for her attitude in Luke
10:38-42, and she apparently grew from it. Later, in John 11:17-27,
she made a profound statement of trust and dependence upon Christ
following the death of her brother, Lazarus. Then, in John 12, she
once again served Jesus and His disciples, yet without any mention
of the kinds of frustration pictured in Luke 10. It seems that Martha
had grown in her relationship with Christ. __BILL CROWDER

*Amen2*

Each of us is meant to have a relationship with God, all in His time of course.

He is first always, in all ways. It matters not how busy my day is, I invite Him along for all of it. Because if He isn't there, what am I doing?

Thanks for your time and efforts Cimi. *Cheer3*

I so enjoy your posts sis. *Hug9*

Peace and Love in Christ,
