Need to repent

Postby Guest » Sat Aug 29, 2009 1:36 am

*Doh* was just talking to a friend. We started talking about things we shouldn't have. So, I quickly cut off our conversation and came here. I'm trying to get back on track after having been off for a couple months and now this. *Halo* But I know I did good by getting out of the situation. Thank God for this site where we can come for confession and counseling. Progress not perfection. God had given that to me a few days ago. It was said on a show I was watching, Tyler Perry's 'Meet The Browns'. Those three words, progress not perfection, really struck me. It is helping me to change and is helping me right now because of what just happened. Anyway, say a little prayer for me if you would. Thank you! Love you all, God Bless! I'm gonna go *ReadBible*

*hug* Sis

Learning curve.

I think of Joseph when he was tempted he left his coat and Ran.

That's gotten me out of many temptations, that one three letter word word, RUN.

I had a friend who wrote a song called Leave Your Coat And Run Son.

God bless you. :)

Sis, welcome :) We all fall down, and that's why we have Jesus to pick us back up. Call out to Him, with your repentance and He hears you, and you are immeditately forgiven. Then forgive yourself and get up and move forward. Jesus loves you so very much.

Take care and God Bless

Thanks to each of you for your words, your prayers and support. I love you! *hug*
Thinking about it, I realize God was trying to protect me from what happened. He tried to redirect my attention and warn me but I ignored it. My 'friend' and I were talking via myspace. Twice it kicked me off the im. Twice my 1 yr old nephew woke up crying and came to me. And when we started talking, for some reason I didn't even want to. But I just went ahead anyway and let my thoughts and words wander to a place they should never go. I've struggled with this sort of thing for a while but God is teaching me how to overcome. God is so good! He's given me peace once more. *DoveOlive*

sis, I don't know what it is exactly that you are struggling with but we have lots of different support groups here at the Oasis, some of them are not even listed in the forums. If you ever feel comfortable in sharing with me even in private messaging what exactly it is you struggle with, I will try to guide you to a support group for your needs.

Praying for you sis.

luv ya back

Hi Sis,

Well, it seems you have a plan of action, which is the first step in overcoming any temptation..when tempted you came here.. Awesome!

Psalm 141: 3-4
"Take control of what I say, O Lord, and guard my lips. Don't let me drift toward evil or take part in acts of wickedness. Don't let me share in the delicacies of those who do wrong."

Whatever your temptation includes, please know rising above it will bring great rewards.

James 1: 12
"God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him."

There are many study programs and members here who can help. You are on your way to great recovery and a renewed relationship with Him.

Thanks for reaching out Sis Whitely!!! Hope to talk soon.

You are in my prayers!!! *Pray*

*BlessYou* Lani

Sis welcome here...

I know the struggle you have. I have been there done that and threw away the t-shirt.

It is difficult but as you have stated the Holy Spirit was running hard to catch you...to refocus your intentions...to bring you into HIS arms of safety.
The enemy has so many eons of practice to entice and misdirect us.

The struggle is great but the rewards of being in Gods will are intensely greater than one's imagination. Potential is everywhere within us as long as we stay in God's will.

You are making good strides in your effort...and those of us here are more than willing to stand in the gap for you in prayer, support and love.
If there is anything I may help you with such as a listening ear a word of encouragement...feel free to knock on my PM door.

Much love and praise His Name this day.
