Getting to know Him
Hello Everyone,
God bless you this day.
One of the most precious memories I have is the day I felt God's peace -- His presence -- in a way I had never, ever experienced before. It was just a few years ago. It was jaw-dropping, breath gasping AWESOME. It moved me from all self awareness to complete and total awareness of Him. It literally changed my life.
This event came some 22 1/2 years after my salvation. I truly believe it to be the day He baptized me with His Fire, the baptism of The Holy Spirit.
Prior to that day, I had the indwelling of The Holy Spirit, because God's Word tells us that the moment we accept Jesus Christ as Saviour, that The Holy Spirit indwells us. He was working in me, and I could see the changes taking place -- slowly over time -- with little to no effort by me to have a relationship with Him, because I didn't know I could. I sought Him, but not in a special way. I sought Him more on the polite level -- more like a business or social acquaintance. Yes, I cried to Him when I tried to hide myself from the world and it's cares, but I had no real concept of or understanding of getting to know Him. It was as if He was over there and I had to cry and convince Him to come over here, to where I was.
On that day; however, it was amazing.
And then as the song goes..."And then it happened, it took me by surprise...
Sweeter than wine
Softer than the summer night
Everything I want, I have
Whenever I hold you tight"
It's a whole new life. He is worthy. Get to know Him, He invites us to. Hallelujah!!!
Now, when I look back on all those years before I had a relationship with Him -- even in the bad times, He shows me He was there. I just wasn't aware of it at the time. Gives me a whole different perspective on those past experiences.
Wooooooohooooooo!!!
Oh, and one more thing -- what He does for others, He'll do for you. (here comes another song) He'll take you there...awwww Mercy.
God bless you all.
Love,
Mack
