Fire and Light

Postby mlg » Sun Sep 09, 2007 4:38 pm

Have you ever watched a new fire, starting out? First it smokes, then it lights, and the next thing you know, you add a little fuel and fan the flames and you have a full blown bonfire.

Now think of your walk with Jesus, have you ever been so hot for the Word, just can't get enough of it, tell all you see about HIM and then all of a sudden you start seeing tribulations, so you refocus some of that fire for HIM on the trials in your life?

That's what Satan wants us to do, fall out of that fire, cuz when that Fire burns within you it's so hot that even Satan burns when he gets near. It's too hot for Satan to handle.

What about a cave? Ever been in a cave? Mark Twain once said "Cave is a good word...The memory of a cave I used to know with its lofty passages, its silence and solitude, its shrouding gloom, its sepulchral echoes, fleeting lights, and more than all, its sudden revelations."--Innocents Abroad.

If you've ever gone caving, you know the difference between a spelunker and a caver is that a caver is more experienced at climbing and scouting caves, and usually a caver is the one who goes to find a lost or injured spelunker.

Think of your Christian walk now. We start out in a cave of darkness and shrouding gloom, as we are spelunkers and not quiet sure of where to place our feet. The idea of course is we need to find the Light but we aren't quiet sure where it is, and we are so very lost, but then all of a sudden we see a caver coming to our rescue, who's name is Jesus, and he guides us toward the Light and as we follow, HE forgives us and gives us sudden revelations....
Now we have a constant caver by our side, providing us Light instead of darkness.

Fire and Light are what he wants for us to Have and to Know. Remember in Luke on the day that Jesus rose from the dead and met the two who were traveling to Emmaus, when Jesus spoke with them on the road, they didn't Know HIM, as their eyes were restrained. Jesus talked to them a very long time NKJV Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

Then as they came to the village, the two men invited Jesus to come stay with them. NKJV Luke 24:30-31 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them that He took bread, blessed and broke it and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.

NKJV Luke 24:32 and they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?"

Take Jesus along and make him your fuel for your fire and your caver to keep you on the path of Light.

May your heart burn for the Light, may your fire for HIM never smolder, for it's the best "heartburn" you will ever have.

Mlg, that was awesome! Then as a little bonus, I learned a new word, and a fun word to pronounce "spelunker". LOLOLOL for some reason I'm pronouncing it with my idea of a Swedish accent. Awesome ! I love the example of Jesus being the Caver.

And the Mark Twain quote -- too cool!

Thank you, Mlg :)

God bless you, sister!
