Re-weeding my Garden

Postby bigred29 » Sun Mar 22, 2009 9:21 am

So I find me here again. Wondering why I am so foolish. My "old man" has been clawing at me. I guess I may have dropped my guard. Forget letting it down. I was looking at inapropriate stuff online again. I wasn't being a good slodier. I had forgotten just how much He loves me.

But I have been reminded of His love and things are getting better. I have been working extra hard to do better. I have gone back thru step 1 & 2 so far. I feel better already. I guess I'm just too stuborn.

Many of us here have been through the same things. Letting the world rule us is not good.I am but a humble sinner who is trying to find a place in His kingdom. This is an ongoing work.

Hey bigred *hug* you know it is tough walking the walk of Christ. It won't ever be easy, but the thing is we have to dedicate ourselves to Him, and knos that His way is best. We have to remove ourselves from the situations that bring us temptation. We have a choice to make, each time temptation comes our way...and if you will put your mind on God as soon as you feel the temptation...He will remove the temptation from you. The thing is if you do fall down...you gotta get back up. Jesus doesn't want to see you a broken man, He wants to see you full of life...His life that He wants to give you. Glad to see you are beginning again to get up and get back to where Christ would have you be. My prayers are with you.

Hey red , dont think we met .

The only thing I can say is that , you did make it back here , so you're not "down" any longer , just keep going !

Falling , or being tempted , is not a wrong , neither is it a "sin" , so to speak , but , being aware of it and not wanting to get back up IS .

3+4

Postby bigred29 » Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:47 am

After looking at steps 3+4 again I realize I'm like everyone else here. I make mistakes. I fall down and get back up. Sometimes the same mess makes me fall a good bit. I need to beat myself in the head to make it clear to me that I need to be more focused on Him.

Hang in there and all will be well. ( Just a reminder to me)

Bigred, I'd like to make a few more suggestions. Remember the idea of placing sticky notes all around you to help you remember things? How about placing reminds of Look up today, and smile at God, or something like have you prayed today? Put them on stickys and place them in places you go daily. Then you will see them, and they will remind you to put your focus on God.

Keep renewing your mind continually.

I have reminders all over.

My wife. 6 awesome cats. My family. Bible verses in my locker at work.A little Jesus figure by my computer.

I'm getting the focus back. I just need to stay on top of it.

Each step I take back through this program, I see things more clearly. The old me is saying I needed to see how I was so I could be better in the future. The old me keeps telling me I needed a kick in the pants. I agree. Ills befall us from time to time. Satan tries to creep in and re-claim what was once his. All I got to say about that is this, I will not let that happen without a fight.

Red,
I admire your honesty and willingness. So does our Father. The Blood cleanses us from All sin. Sounds like you have true repentance. Today is a new day in Christ. He gives us a fresh start.
Keep it up Bro.

Luv Ya

There ya go bigred, there's the fighter I know. See Satan doesn't like the fact that he is loosing the hold on you, that he had, so he is trying to find everyway possible to lead you back into the temptations that the old you would fall for. The thing is you now, know the TRUTH, and you have someone mightier than Satan fighting beside you....JESUS! Keep your eyes on Him, and you can't go wrong.

I think I got it now. I now know what has been bugging me as of late. WORK!!!!! Little things here and there occur that conjur up old thoughts and feelings. I won't get into all of the details, but I feel like I'm at my old job again sometimes. Nobody gave a hoot if you were ok or not. I been getting these same reactions again lately and I think it sucks. But, I have come to grips with it and let it all go. I feel better now as a result.

As far as other things go, I have that figured out too. Old relationships corrupted my mind. That's it. I didn't see it the first time I went thru this program. It's all to clear now. Painfully clear. I guess I was so wrapped up in what was going on then to see it. I see it now. I thought I had let go of all of it. I'm working on doing just that now.

Ya know bigred, I'm so glad you decided to redo these steps. The reason is, I see God opening your eyes more and more. As far as people not caring, it's all over the world today my friend. People so caught up in who they are and what they are doing, they don't take time to help another. BUT...Jesus always stops and takes the time for us. When you need someone, cry out to Jesus. Let Him be the one you lean on in the hard times. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Keep fighting the good fight. Your gonna get there.
