God is so amazing. I just sent a PM to someone on this site about having the Holy Spirit guide us in understanding the Bible and the first thing I see in the teaching is decerning the Holy Spirit in the Word. *laughter*

I never saw Job in that light before.
I remember reminding my sister of Job when she was going through a difficult time. I sent her some money to help out but she was still having a hard time. She was saying they didn't have much in the way of food and I was hurting for her and her daughters. I asked God if I could send her money and He said "okay"... BUT then I said, "You don't want me to, do you?" "No."
He felt my pain and wanted to give me my heart's desire but there was also a lesson my sister needed to learn that would have taken longer if I kept giving her money.
She understood and felt glad that she could talk to me without having to feel like she was inconveniencing me or making me think she was asking for money. Sometimes she just wanted to talk.

I know when I was going through my difficult time, I kept going to the Bible, asking God to show me something to help me. He frequently brought me to the same Scriptures that I would read over and over.
I have since been able to give those same Scriptures to a friend of my sister that was going through the same trial I went through to encourage her.

Isn't it neat how the Holy Spirit will guide us to the Word we need when we need it? I too have experienced times when I need to hear from God and have turned to scripture and they have been the exact ones I needed to hear. He just so knows what we need when we need it, and like a faithful Father He provides.

You are doing so well on these steps deetu. I'm so glad God brought you here to the Oasis. I've enjoyed this with you.

luv ya

humm... well, my score didn't change.

I had a dream last night. I was walking through a blizzard at night and saw a friend in a t-shirt in the snow. When I came up behind him, he was sheltering someone with his body. It may have been his girlfriend. I opened my coat and wrapped it around them both. He laughed, then stood up, carrying both of us to some kind of terminal with a fast food type resturant inside. He's a very small person so this was really a big feat for him but he did it with ease once my coat and body warmed him.

Hey deetu *hug* it's ok if your score didn't change. Mine didn't either when I did this study. Maybe God has you at the level He wants you to be at for now. The good thing is you have learned so much from this study, and you have grown in your relationship with God.

I'm not really good with interpretting dreams, but one thing that came to mind was you said the guy carried you with ease once your coat warmed him. I see that as not a coat that warmed him, but the presence of the Holy Spirit within you warmed this young man's soul. He could feel the Lord's virtue working through you and it reached out and touched him as well.

I'm so proud of you for doing these steps deetu. You really have done great and Jesus is even more proud.

Take care and luv ya

That is strange... I know I wrote something yesterday but it's not only not there, but I can't remember what I wrote.

Oh yea, I wrote about it being hard for me to journal. I hear better with my eyes closed. That's actually what I wrote when I tried to journal.
I recently realized that when I'm worshiping, singing and dancing along with some good Christian music (my husband doesn't like my singing. he once came running over because he thought the cat got stuck in the electric fence *Yikes* ) So, I'd notice that my mind would wander. I'd pull it back... I'd bind the enemy... I'd ask for strength... still it would wander. So one day I decided to write down what I was wandering too. After writing it down, it stopped. Then it wandered again to something else. I wrote that down. When I read it afterward, I realized God had been talking to me. One said to pray for my boss's throat so he could swallow after he had a stroke. (he could swallow the next day) One said to call a certain person. Now I write down where my mind wanders ;)

And I try to write down my dreams, even going so far as to write in the dark but lose them before I can get them down.

Keeping notes on people you talk too is a good idea. I even forget stuff from good friends that I should know.

Hey mlg, do you have notes on me?

lol deetu, no I don't keep notes on you. Actually believe it or not, I have an excellent memory and I just remember things.

I find it really neat that you write down things that your mind wanders too, when you are trying to concentrate on the Lord. I too have caught my self on occassion, with my own mind wandering, when trying to just sit and share with God. In fact, I'm thinking that I might try the writing things down in order to go back and read them later. I too may have missed a message that God wanted to share with me.

Sis you really have done well with these steps, and I find your sharing a blessing.

luv ya

Remember when I said there was a Scripture that God gave me during my trial in my first year that I kept reading over and over.
It was:

Isaiah 41:9
"I called you." "I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11 All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.
12Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you. Do not fear, I will help you."

And I say, "Amen"
