That's the thought I "woke-up" with this morning . Which is actually an AA tradition that states, in part , "Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion, ..."
After a few incidents that took place yesterday , finding myself wanting to answer a question that was asked repeatedly , not necessarily to me directly , was, in effect "How or what's the best way, to transmit the Word to thers" . The answer for me was, that you will get as many different answers to that question as there are people you ask . In fact , if you were to ask me that same question half an hour from now , chances are you'll get a totaly different answer than, say , this evening or tommorrow . The reason ? The Holy Spirit doesn't have a time card to punch in or out , taking breaks every two hours or so , no, He is with me at ALL times , the catch ? As long as I ask Him to do the "talkin" , in other words , as long as I am aware of His Presence , and allowing myself to be His vessel or mouthpiece , I simply can't say the wrong thing , so, dont worry about it, just do it !

Scenario ,(just to make a long story - longer - Hah !) . One of the things that my sponsor did that I used to curse him for but today I thank him for it (of course) is that he put me on "back-up" speaker list throughout New England without asking me (how dare he !).
Sat. PM , no newbie to work on , mtg's not till 6 hrs. from now, go to the shop find something or other to fiddle with , two AA's , "Gary said we'd find you here, our speaker 4 today cant make it ... " " WHERE ? Boston ?" OK, "at least I have three hrs to 'prep a script' " usually I'd find a theme to focus on , this time -nothing- now that's not bad enough , we are running late ! Rush here rush there , in through the back door , puhed at the podium , look up , 1000+ people, "ho--ly ... !!" . "Where's the coffee around here" an AA joke, killing time to regroup .
The first thing out of my mouth was "Shows you how "sick" I am to take this many people to sober me up ... !" roar .. " ... yeah , kinda shows me how "sick" you are , comming here just to listen to me huh? " "... makes me wonder how many it took you ... " all of a sudden , I went "In case you're wondering the same, the answer is ONE , and He's not here physically , but He's surely here in Spirit " . You could hear a pin drop , (on the carpet !) and there was my topic , Istantly , without a thought, if there was any thought at all, it was "Where did that come from ? "

It is only when I'm worried about what "I", am going to say is when I find myself lost at words at times like that .
The only thing to worry about is to suit up & show up and say "How can I be of help" and move over rover , let the Comforter take over !

wooohooo Vahn, don't ya just love it when the Holy Spirit takes control and moves!!!! Great story by the way. I'm not good at public speaking. I'm working on it, but I get nervous and shakey. People tell me I'm great at it, but I'm all torn up inside when I'm doing so. Something to move over rover and let Him take control. Bet I wouldn't be so nervous then huh?
