I knelt to pray but not for long,

I had too much to do.

I had to hurry and get to work

For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,

And jumped up off my knees.

My Christian duty was now done

My soul could rest at ease.....

All day long I had no time

To spread a word of cheer

No time to speak of Christ to friends,

They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,

That was my constant cry,

No time to give to souls in need

But at last the time, the time to die.! ! !

I went before the Lord,

I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
! ! !
For in his hands God held a book;

It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said

'Your name I cannot find

I once was going to write it down...

But never found the time'



A Prayer For The Touch Of God In Times Of Strife

Precious Father,
Precious Lord Jesus,
Wonderful Holy Spirit,
I know you are close to me every moment.
I know you live within my heart this very hour.
I know your touch upon me and upon my heart is real and alive.
I know you are my personal God always seeking to touch me in the tough times of my life.
During my tough times, during my times of strife when the pain of living seems to drive out all my spirit, please do some of your wondrous work in me so I maintain contact with you.
During the tough times, when I am overwhelmed with problems and pain, give me your special touch creating in me more stamina and fortitude to stay the course as your child.
During the tough times, help me keep my heart and mind only upon you.
During the tough times, when I am weak and feeble, touch me so I always remember to tell you how much I love you.
I recognize your divine power over all of your creation.
Help me to open my heart and mind to your touch.
As you touch me, may your love shine brightly to those around me.
I need you Lord.
I need your touch upon my life so I may serve you more fully each day.
In the name of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit that lives in me and touches me,
