About Sylvia

Postby Sylvia » Thu May 29, 2008 8:14 am

I would like to tell you some things about me.
I have multiple sclerosis.
I have days with multiple sclerosis where I can function fairly normally as long as I take breaks to rest in between activities.
Then there are days I am affected by muscle spasms in my neck, shoulders and back. I am in pain all day. This also affects my vision. I also have a terrible time trying to walk.
I can't see clearly and can't focus on objects very well. I spend these days doing nothing but resting.
Those days can linger depending on how I treat myself. If I push myself then instead of one bad day it can turn into one bad week.
So I have learned to allow myself to totally rest.
I have been afraid when I have to cancel "Overcoming the World" or people see that I have not been on this site for a day or so people will think I don't want to be. This is far from the truth.
I wanted to explain to all of you that if I have to cancel Overcoming the World it is because of health reasons. It is not because I don't care about you all. I love you all and love the fellowship we have together.
God Bless You
Sylvia *Halo*

Hi, Sylvia:

There is a book about a Christian woman's journey with MS.

It is entitled "Soar Unafraid" by Jo Franz.

The book is available through Tate Publishing dot com.

Updating this Post

Postby Sylvia » Sat Aug 22, 2009 10:03 am

I thought I had updated this but realized that I had put it in a separate posting.
Back in January God lead me to a MS specialist. I waited 3 months to get into see her but it was worth the wait.
After many tests she told me that I do not have MS. Praise God!
But she said all my symptoms (not being able to walk at times, being paralyzed on my left side at times; severe tremors; loss of the ability to think thoughts and even the vision problems were all epilepsy related.
I was put on a stronger dose of medication (as I had a seizure back in 2004 when my Mother died) and have been symptom free since.
Many people had been praying for me. I feel God leading me to that specialist was an answer to prayer and I thank God for it.
Now that I am facing cancer I know He is with me. He does not change. His mercies are eternal, His love never ends.
Love

After reading this again, I saw that the last post was 3 days before my husband died suddenly from a massive heart attack.
Since then I have been having chemo for the cancer and after that will have radiation. I know the Lord has a plan for all this. Taking away my sweetheart and the cancer.

"The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you or forsake you, do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

More prayers being sent your way Sylvia.

I can't know what you are going through but I just feel like you will be a beacon of light to others who are going through the same but don't know our Lord's love and don't understand Him.
They may be thinking, what did I do wrong that God is punishing me.
You will be able to reach them because you know His love and can explain it to them because you are going through the same thing.. the same place as them.

Father, I ask for strength and wisdom for Sylvia during this time.
I ask for complete healing, no complications or additional problems.
In Jesus's mighty name I pray.
It is better to light a candle then curse the darkness *lost*
No fear... just freedom *knight*
