Starting Christian Counseling

Postby Leaps4Joy » Sat May 31, 2008 12:28 pm

I am hopeing that doing christian counseling will help me with some of the things that I go through/ or have gone through in life. I have lived somewhat a hard life you could say. I have only lived with my mom untill I was 6 months of age. Due to matters that I dont know of quite yet. It is hard at times because I know my mom is dieing but I can not make a bond with her. I have tried talking to her on the phone once a week but that just doesnt seem to work out. After awhile of talking to her it became hard to talk about her. It made me want to cry because she is suffereing liver failer, and I know she doesnt believe in Jesus Christ, I have asked her before if she believed and she told me no. Life is also hard because my dad is gone all week long he comes home late friday nights and leaves early monday morning. I realize that he has to provide for my family but it is still hard. espically when he missed my 8th grade graduation. I have suffered through physical, emotional, and verbal abuse. Although this person has appoligized it is still hard. Although I have encounter several good things in life, having the things that arnt good just doesnt help. I hope this helps me with being more open with my mom, not staying to myself, and several other things in life.

Im really glad you are doing this program :) It will help bring understanding and will strengthen your relationship with Him.

Im very proud of you :) and im cheering you on lil sister.

Hey my sweet *hug* So glad to see you are beginning the steps. This will help you heal from all of the pain you have been through in the past. This will also, help you find a closer walk with the Lord.

I know you worry about your mom, as you love her. It hurts to watch her go through what she is, and not be able to do anything physically, but you can pray for her.

No matter what comes of anything in our lives, we always have the knowledge of knowing that God is in control, and He won't let us down.

Praying for you sis through the steps. luv ya lots *hug*

Reading stepping stone 2 has helped me realize that no one can do anything for the issues I have besides Jesus Christ himeself, and for anything to happen I have to let go of everything that has gone on in my life. Forgive the ones that have caused it and pray for those that are ill and that are cause some hurt also. I know that it will be hard, but I know it has to be done inorder for this to help.

Yes, mysweet it is hard, but you are right you have to forgive and move past. Let it go, and Let God. He is the one who can truly heal all pain, but you have to be willing to do your part. Pray on it sis, ask God for His help. He will be there.

Keep doing the steps, you are doing great.

luv ya

I do at times find it hard to forgive myself especially when it leads me to health issues.... I was warned my a fellow chatter here that I should stop eating so many sweets or else one day it will catch up to me.... well If I would have listend I might not be having issues with blood sugar... It goes up and down all of the time... But I also think of it as a good thing... I think God was telling me that I should stop eating so many sweets so by doing this he gave me high blood sugar... Although this maybe rough I know there was a reason for it.. He has a purpose for everything...

Steping stone 3 made me take a close look into forgiving myself for this pain I have caused and think about maybe GOD really did have a purpose for this... Knowing that Jesus gave is ONLY son for our sins..... Meaning that we should give it ALL to him no matter what it is we have done.....

Mysweet *hug* we all have health issues, but they are issues that we can't prevent. You can eat the healthiest, exercise every day, and live healthy, and still have health problems. Why? Because God allows it to happen. He is in control, but he does allow it. He isn't punishing us, when we become ill, He is actually the one who can heal us.

Forgive yourself, and let it go. You can't worry about the past. You have to move forward, and say ok, I am sick, now I have to make sure I do the right things to keep me from becoming more sick.

Praying for you sis

Amen lil tweet :)

Very important step there. Not always an easy one, but without forgiveness, there can never be true healing. Many wait for the 'right' time to forgive, where they FEEL ready to do so. Truth is, that time is here and now, cuz as long as we are unforgiving, we are not being forgiven of our sins by God and we continue to live in the past. So it is not a feeling, but a choice we must make, in order to move forward.

I am so very happy you made the choice to forgive *hug*

I luvs u :)

My sweet glad to see you still doing the steps. Responsibility is a big player in all of this. If you are always trying to shift responsibility to someone or something else, then when you are the one who is actually accountable, you never realize that you need to work on something to make it better. You have to be willing to accept that responsibility, and then do something about it. Strengthening your mind and soul, is part of this also. Once you know that you need to work on the YOU...then you are working on your mind and your soul.

Keep doing the steps. You should be so proud, and I know things are looking totally different, from when you first began this program.
