Christianity Oasis Forum

This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

Update

Postby goldieluvs » Tue May 13, 2008 9:14 pm

Well, my ex called. He doesnt have a job. Is planning on moving in but said he would have a job before he did. He continues to claim he is clean. I dunno how this will go. Said if necessary he could stay where he is until he got first paycheck. He says he is going job hunting 2morrow and supposedly called or checked on one job that will be a long drive for him if he moves up here. I think he has burnt his bridges in the town where he is currently at. Am nervous about the whole thing. He needs to have his mind right when he gets here. I am hoping he will wait another week or so before he comes. I think he is partly waiting on my plumbing to get fixed. Time will tell i guess. Am praying... Goldie

goldie,
Thanks for the update.
I can only tell you about myself and how I was. I used to avoid responsibilities and did not want to face life and its problems. I had to learn to grow up and not depend on people.
It is wise for your ex to commit himself to going to 12 step meetings whether i
he thinks he is doing ok or not. Maybe you can get him involved with Oasis and allow good things to be filled within him. The spiritual life is a must in order to stay clean. Do not force it but let your walk be an example and allow God to do His thing.
I do not mean to be negative but giving you heads up as to how our minds work. We mean well, but qwe have to be honest with ourselves and others.
And God has the power to change us as He has me. I had to surrender to self and be willing to listen to others. My way didn't work.

I hope this helps and continue to keep us posted on this tread if ya would.

GBU sis.

Luv Ya,

Real
