starting over

Postby gailamnu » Tue Jan 15, 2008 12:46 am

Thanks to Oasis and the new counseling chat study, I am starting the counseling program again.

The first step of FAITH has been reinforced all day for me, I love how God works! The study earlier on childlike faith helped prepare my heart for this step, helped remind me to release all my guilt, fear and suspicion and run to the arms of Jesus like a trusting little child who runs to someone they love.

It has taken so long for me to start believing again that God loves me. But I thank Him for His patience and faithfulness, even when I have been so unfaithful. And I thank Him for using Oasis and all the loving wonderful people here to start moving me to a new place, a better life with Him.

I started with great enthusiasm, fell down, struggled, have felt such highs and lows... But I am learning to believe in God and what He says about me, not what my feelings or problems or other people are telling me from day to day. I want to choose each day to put more faith in His power and His willingness to heal me instead of faith in my ability to fail.

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Heb 12:2

Hello Gail,

God bless you, dear sister.

Wooooooohooooooo! Those Studies were so very awesome!!!
Yes, child-like faith. I still get tears when I think of what Kimberly said of her granddaughter.

Gail, I get so very excited when I read your posts. I love how you have come to love Him -- it reflects in the words you type. How does He do that? So very cool, He is.

I'm excited to be doing this Study again -- with you and everyone else who participating in the Group Chat CCCC Study.

God is so very Good.

God bless you, Gail.
Love and hugs,
Mack

Amen gail sis, its hard to have childlike faith sometimes, cuz we are so bruised and battered from our experiences in this world. But when we truly allow ourselves to open our hearts and minds and accept the promises of Love and Grace that God has given us all, it frees us so much we can *run* without any thought of our past, and look only towards our future.

I truly enjoyed tonite as well mackles, this is an awesome study, and I too feel blessed to be able to go thru it with such an awesome group of people.

Thank you Oasis and thank you Holy Spirit for shining the light of Truth on us, through this program.

gail, glad to see you beginning anew. Faith is something that everyone has struggled with at one time or another. Spiritual warfare is usually one of the largest reasons for this. Satan whispers little lies, we begin to believe them, and then yep our faith falters. I'm so proud of you for trying this all over again. Keep it up.

Take care and God Bless

Thank you all for your replies! It is helping to go through this program with people I have come to love and respect, and getting encouragement and accountability help so much. Most important I love the Lord so much for bringing me here and loving each one of us so much that He would provide a special place and spiritual family where, through Him, we can grow and support each other.

Yesterday in the second step of weeding, I was again touched that now that God has started a work, He still lovingly lets us know that He is patient and merciful and doesn't expect us to be perfect in one day... that the work He began in us through the Spirit, He will keep working on and finishing until the day we see Jesus!! His timing is perfect!

"Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Amen gail sis *hug*

He is so very patient with us. And His timing is perfect :)

Praise God!

I myself have a lot of icky weeds to get rid off, but I can say that I have gotten rid of quite a bit as well already. So it is a process, day to day, wont happen overnight, but with time, and our Lord's help, we will overcome those things that we struggle with.

Luv u sis gail *hug* :)

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
