Never forget that we ALL fall down as we sojourn down this Christian Walk. The trick is to get up and carry on fighting the good fight of FAITH. One of the greatest gifts that our Father gave to Christians is ... Fellow Christians. James 5:16 ... Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much ...

Day #4 of Many Called Few Chosen

Postby Dora » Thu Jan 10, 2008 10:22 am

Matt 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

Take no thought in how or what I should speak. That's like tapping into the Holy Spirit when a situation arises. I'm learnig this. :)
For it will be given to you in the same hour that you speak. That's awsome, cause I usually think of the right thing to say hours later, or in the middle of the night I wake up with the answer. As I learn to listen with my spiritual ears and rely on the Holy Spirit for the answer in his perfect time, I will hear the words that are spoken. Ever talk to someone who seems to not hear you. You can talk and talk but they never seem to hear a word you say. That is so frustrating. That's what so often happens between us and the Holy Spirit. We can feel like we talk and talk and he doesn't hear, but the truth is he talks and talks and so often many of us don't hear.

Faith
Why are we refined? Why do we need to go through the fires? Ok let me see if I got this right, it brings about faith, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, love for our christian family and finally love for nonChristians.

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

The tring of your faith worketh patience.
That you may be perfect and entire wanting for nothing. There are other scriptures about not being in want. Yet so many are consumed with wanting things, more stuff. Does this wanting not lead us away from Christ? Want for a better place to live, a better job, a nicer vehicle, a flat screen tv, a lap top :), nicer clothing, to be married, to be single, to be married to someone else, wanting to go to the movies, wanting lobster and steak when you can only afford beans and rice, wanting to do this or do that. We are becoming obsessed with our wants. Is it not a better life to be content with what we have just as the Lord has said. All I really need is Jesus. Sure there are things I need to continue to live on this earth such as food, water, protection, and oxygen. But will he not see to it that I have those things if it's his will for me to continue this life here on this earth. Is this not Gods will for us that we are happy and how can we be happy if we are wanting stuff. We may get what we want, but shortly after we get what we wanted our happiness if gone, because there is something else we want. If we get a bike with in a short time don't we want a better bike. If we get a row boat, don't we shortly want a motor boat. We get the motor boat and we want a faster boat and then we get the faster boat and we want a bigger boat. If we can't be content without a boat we sure won't be content with a boat. or bike or tv or lap top, ect.

It may not sound like it but i really enjoyed day 4s study. It was encouraging to me that it's ok to fall down. Even the decipes kept forgetting about the miracles Jesus preformed. I didn't know that!

Hope this makes since. I feel like I'm coming down with the flu. I may not be thinking clearly. I pray my words are spoken from the Holy Spirit and not of myself.
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Pine, how true it is that the Lord's blessings are provided by Faith. Your right we often want material things to try and please ourself, when instead Jesus is all we need, as the material things will pass away, but God is, was, has been and always will be. It's great to see you enjoying the steps and doing so well. Kitty, I love that you are learning with Pine, and as the Lord leads you then it might be His will one day for you to do the steps too. But in HIS time.

luv ya both

Pine Congradulations you have just connected with the Holy Spirit, the best thing is sis that from here on it just keeps getting better. The more we let him use us as a mighty Tool for God the better it gets and it is so rewardingknowing that the Holy Spirit uses us to make a difference in someone's life.
