A question
I have a question that i hope to receive insightful responses on in order to help me choose. I am an addict. period. no excuses. Lots of bad choices, lots of old traumas that haven't really healed. I had gotten a few years back a life Recovery Bible which also integrated 12 steps from NA/AA. It was good and helped when i was using it regularly. I also recently saw a Bible called Celebrate Reccovery which is supposed to be the Bible with 8 points from Sermon on the Mount integrated into recovery. I also know that there are churches that sponsor celebrate recovery. i think one difference between Life Recovery is its more so for addiction but perhaps maybe doesnt really help me deal with emotions over situations where i was abused in the past. The abuse is not my main focus right now. I am looking to move on from that. I want my relationship with God back and i want to run the good race
My dilemma,, i really really really need to get this right this time. I feel i am running out of time. Not just because Trump Jerusalem Israel deal that they developed but i think it leads into End Times though i am not expert. So i am on a time frame to reconnect with God get my life back into God loving and righteous living and being who God would have me be,I want that right relationship with God back. I guess what I am wondering is which bible are most familiar with which would you recommend and why. i feel an urgent sense of need to get this right this time. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to share.

Re: An Answer
Hope ... I find you to be genuine and YOU-nique as always after reading over a decade of the sharing of your true soul. Obviously, someone else feels the same way.
Pssssssst ... You chose an excellent user name for someone seeking a path of light as to escape darkness.
I have an interested individual who feels LED (Called), who wrote me asking about wanting to share thoughts with you personally about your heart felt words, as compared to posting here because she did not want to expose what she called her own "similarities" to what you shared. So ... I am asking you, if it is acceptable for me to share your e-mail with her. Please let me know if you feel it may be a potential "step" to peace and "hope" that you may want to explore.
If so, please contact me at webservant@ChristianityOasis.com
Luv ya always

Re: A question
Hello Hope,
God bless you this day.
Prayers are rising to The Lord in the name of Jesus on your behalf. I sense the urgency in your appeal, and if I do, I know God Almighty does. He loves you so very much.
Love,
Mack

Re: A question
Hello Hope,
I'm so very sorry to hear of your job loss and all the confusion and loss associated to it. These are such challenging times we're living in. It's hard to keep focused at times.
I hope you'll always remember that Christ Jesus died for you and you are a blessed child of God. You bear His seal...the indwelling of The Holy Spirit.
To answer your earlier inquiry about which version of The Bible I prefer and the reason why, I answer this: I prefer The King James version. I do, however, own several different versions that I've acquired over the decades. The reason I prefer The King James version may sound odd, but it is written in old fashion, King's English, if you will -- and at times is so foreign to my own way of speaking that it actually keeps me from relying on my own understanding. I invite The Holy Spirit to accompany me when I open The Bible, and to lead me into the understanding and knowledge of God's Word. Whenever I read a verse that I don't understand...I pray and ask for clarity, and I also research using other versions, Strong's Concordance, Bible dictionaries, etc. Back in 2005, I prayed and asked God to give me a passion for reading His Word. He answered my prayer.
Hope, remember, God loves you. He will never leave, nor forsake you. Keep the blessed name of Jesus in your heart and on your lips.
You are in my prayers, Hope. God's blessed will be done.
Please let us know how you are doing.
God bless and keep you.
Love,
Mack

Re: A question
Interesting, Mack. I read devotionals in Spanish and it often makes messages I've heard many times come through better. Same thing.
Hope, I use the King James sometimes because I learned on it and has familiarity. But I am using the NIV more and more.
Hope, I find that God works in the peace. Urgency can be good to wake you up and get you on the right path, but to stay on it and connected - well, when you get connected with God there is peace.
If you PM me, then I will give you my email. To PM look at the top of the screen next to Logout - hit that button. If you click on my name it takes you somewhere else.
I've been pen pals with other addicts. My main reference is that I stick around - don't promise any sort of perfection - just a reply time after time.

Re: A question
Thanks everyone just a quick update. i haven't gotten laptop fixed but my dad got me a new one i just havent set it up yet. Threw my tools out tonight. No job yet. Been applying but at 55 not sure what my chances are of remaining in my field. All i know is i dont want life like this anymore. Not sure what to do when cravings hit but guess i will just try praying and praying and praying some more. Only thing that worries me about losing my home is my dogs. not sure what i can do with them. Ideally i want them with me and i have a 90 day extension on my home before they look at foreclosure so hopefully things will be better by then and i will have some stuff figured out or at least a job that i can tolerate. i have applied for 15 jobs and not one call back ugh. I was reading about how Rahab reached out to God she was a prostitute just basically asked for Mercy so i guess thats where i am asking God for Mercy and asking Him to fix this for me as its more than i can do alone

Re: A question
Go forth expecting. When you apply for a job, while applying - even just filling out an application - dress up, look your best and look people in the eye. Smile - it shows in your eyes even when wearing a mask. The people who take your application know your future boss. Chat a bit. Be positive. It really does make a difference. Another idea - if you don't have a resume, maybe you could make one. Depends on the job of course. But handing in a good resume might make the difference in you getting a job or not. There are people who help and places online to help you.

Re: A question
Thanks dema all my jobs are online its not the kind of jobs where you walk in and apply. I think my resume is ok but maybe i need someone who knows these things to look it over and recommend some changes. Today is day one. Tomorrow starts today so i am just trying to take it day by day. peace and love to everyone

Re: A question
You can dress up and go in and ask if your resume was received and when can you expect to hear something. That often works. Make sure you look nice and have a devotional and get really rah, rah with yourself - not over the top, but show confidence - even if you don't feel it.
