Re: Sexual Sins-Not an easy topic to discuss
Hello DicipleofJesus
God bless you this day.
I may be wrong, but I get the feeling in your closing couple of sentences that you were being facetious, but perhaps I am mistaken. As you have suggested several times in many of your posts, Jesus is our standard, not fallible man or woman.
Perhaps the man who told of his turning a blind eye to what he saw, was confessing to you and the others in attendance that he was wrong and he had great regret. Like we are directed in the Book of James (chapter 5) If that was the case, I hope you and the others prayed for him.
Also, in the Book of James (chapter 3) we are warned that we shouldn't all be too quick to tout ourselves as a teacher, because teachers will be held to a higher standard. That scripture always gives me pause. That is why when I share anything about scripture and what I believe it means, or when I reach out and give advice, that I also hope and pray that what I share honors God and helps the recipient. God's will be done.
I am so grateful to The Lord for gifting us (Christians) with the indwelling of The Holy Spirit to help us grow in our knowledge of The Lord. We are all a work in progress. I'm also so grateful to be able to confess my sins to The Lord, daily, or hourly if need be, and I am grateful for His grace.
As children of God: believers in Christ Jesus, we ARE the church. If a particular group of Christians tends to make you uncomfortable, stagnant or frustrated, move on in peace. Free yourself of the burden and sin of unforgiveness by forgiving them.
Reminds me of a few lyrics of a song:
"Just slip out the back, Jack, make a new plan, Stan
Don't need to be coy, Roy, just listen to Me
Hop on the bus, Gus, don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee, and get yourself free"
NOTE: I think of Jesus when I sing the word "Me".
Thanks for sharing DicipleofJesus. I pray you peace, in the name of Jesus. God's will be done.
I pray what I shared honors God and helps others. God's will be done.
God bless and keep you,
Mack

Trailblazer, sexual sins are difficult and often a struggle for many...including Christians. I believe it is one of our enemies most powerful weapons against society these days. Please feel free to share any thoughts you may have on this subject.

Hello Trailblazer
God bless you this day.
I encourage you to Private Message with Mlg so you can confess what is weighing heavy and troubling your heart. You have mentioned that you are concerned about how safe it is to type, so, if you limit the amount of people that are able to read, by sending a private message, I think you'll feel better about sharing more intimate details without an audience.
I've known Mlg through this site for many, many years. She is a righteous soul who seeks The Lord with her whole heart. She desires to serve The Lord.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
I'll be lifting prayers up to The Lord in the name of Jesus on your behalf. God's will be done.
Trailblazer, Jesus loves you. Jesus died for your sins.
God bless and keep you,
Mack

It's never been about my physical safety, rather my emotional safety, whether I feel comfortable, whether I'll be supported and validated.
-------
I particularly struggle with masturbation, often called fapping or pmo. I have struggled since I was a teenager. I didn't do it for 5 years and then relapsed last year, I'm 170 days clean.

Re: Sexual Sins-Not an easy topic to discuss
One of the things about sexual sins is that one turns to those "feel good moments" hoping to feel better about something. When in reality, those moments pass quickly and the problems or pain or lonliness or any other type of struggle is still there. The truth is in moments of temptation it's better to seek God, and ask Him to make us feel better.
You are safe here my friend...no judgement.
Take care

Hello Trailblazer,
God bless you this day.
It is important to remember that The Lord loves you. Continue in prayer to The Lord in the name of Jesus, and I will continue lifting up prayers for you, as well. God's will be done.
As I mentioned to an earlier Poster in this Forum, anyone afflicted needs to go to The Lord and confess and pray, as well as ask for the prayers of others, as well. I suggested to that Poster the he read a particular commentary that I believe helps to understand some very valuable things about afflictions.
I hope you'll read a commentary on James chapter 5, particularly the portion beginning at verse 13 through the end of that chapter. Here is a link to that commentary by Matthew Henry. If you are using a computer, hold down the control key while clicking on the link, and it will open a new and separate window for you.

Let us never forget the power of prayer. Thank You Lord.
As we grow in our knowledge of God, His Word, The Holy Spirit and our relationship with Him/Them, our insight will grow as well, and we'll rise up with greater ease in the new life in Christ given us.
Remember, He has overcome!
Another great read is Romans chapter 7 and 8.
God bless and keep you, Trailblazer,
Mack
