Re: Finding the Truth
I was so intrigued by that that I ended up clicking through a number of other studies listed.
Hypothetical question: If an evil presence is in someone's home, can anyone, including the person(s) living there, cast the evil out?

Re: Finding the Truth
Hi Taryn,
When evil comes knocking, I turn to the Lord. I pray withput ceasing, listen to Christian music, read my Bible and seek the face of God. Satan won't hang around long then. He does not like the presence of Jesus. The removal of evil comes from Jesus.

Re: Finding the Truth
What do you believe happens to people who have not been baptized but have a life of helping others after they die?

Re: Finding the Truth
Hi Taryn:
We know that a person's works does not save them...but neither does water baptism. Only Jesus Christ saves a person and gives them eternal life.
Check out this study by Christianity Oasis for more information on Baptism:

Re: Finding the Truth
If I understand correctly, and please correct me if I'm wrong, baptism can mean baptized with the Holy Spirit, as in accepting and loving Jesus as our savior?

Re: Finding the Truth
Baptised by the Holy Spirit is correct. When you accept Jesus as your savior, you are given the gift of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, being baptised in the Holy Spirit.
Here is a study regarding the Holy Spirit for you to check out: http://www.christianityoasis.com/keyword/HolySpirit.htm

I got chills reading that. I'm not sure but I might have called on the Holy Spirit before without knowing it.

Hi Taryn,
I am glad you enjoyed the study.
So can you tell me what is stopping you from taking all the steps of walking with Jesus?
Take care

Taryn wrote:Hey all,
I have a question for anyone who feels called to answer. If someone on the street walked up to you on the street, and asked you about God and Jesus, how would you respond?
I would bear witness and tell them that I saw Jesus when I was a nine year old boy. I have also heard the voice of Father God. And if you believe in God and are willing to do His will, He may reveal Himself to you in some ways. He has to me. Witnessing is an important part of evangelism.

Re: Finding the Truth
mlg,
It's kinda hard to explain. Whenever I pick up a bible (or look for an online version) I get this really uncomfortable feeling, like I shouldn't be reading it, and the few times I've gone to church, while the people there tended to be very welcoming, I never felt like I belonged inside.
I really want to continue to learning about Jesus and God but there's this little voice inside me that is wondering if God has a different plan for me. i know it sounds weird, I just don't know how else to explain it.

Re: Finding the Truth
Aha, so you are hearing the enemy of your soul trying to keep you away from the Truth. That's his nasty whispers he uses to do just that. Don't listen to the lies Taryn. The Truth will set you free. Imagine yourself chained up for years to a ball on the ground. Day in and day out you try to get the chain off but instead it only gets tighter. Then one day you see a key that will unlock the chain...yet it seems to be just slightly out of your grasp....and the one who has you chained up taunts you not to try and reach the key...and tells you lies such as "that key won't unlock your chains"....and of course being chained for so long you are torn between believing the lies of the one who is holding you captive....and wanting to find out for yourself if that key really will unlock your chains....
Now saying that...if you reach out for the key and find that it won't unlock the chain....then at least you tried...yet what if you don't try....and that key really will unlock your chains....you've lost out on the freedom that you needed and wanted....don't let the chains continue to bind you Taryn...keep seeking...keep searching....keep reading about Jesus...There really is freedom in the love of Jesus.
Take care
