Thanks for this post. I too can relate and catch myself zoning out, a lot. I am getting better at focusing on God's voice. :)

God's will and my willpower...

things that make you go hmmmmm, right? i mean this is kinda sticky here. my willpower - or what people call willpower anyway = i make up my mind to do or not do something and that's it. the end...until i reach that goal i set for myself. i personally have a lot of willpower. or is it that i have a strong will? is that a good thing? we are supposed to seek God's will not our own. so if we attain a goal we set for ourselves because of our own willpower are we destined to fall back from there to where we had been? because we didn't seek God's will and follow His path for us whether that includes reaching that goal or not?
He wants us to have the desires of our hearts. but He wants us to seek His will and He's the One who knows whether that goal is actually a good goal for us in the first place. maybe we'll change our mind about that goal on the way or maybe it's something that He gave us the desire for.

just thoughts :D

What if we all woke up every morning and prayed that anyone who was going to die this day got one more chance to see the Truth and ask forgiveness and be saved before their time in this flesh was done?

Couldn't hurt, could it?

love y'all

The more you trust God the bigger your faith grows.

Listen to Holy Spirit. Seek God's Will for every decision you face. For each decision that you make in accordance to His Will, by trusting Him to make the right choice, your faith will grow. It seems easy to have faith in God, in that we believe the Bible is His Word and Jesus is His Son and He sent His Holy Spirit to us. We know these things and believe these things and we won't ever let go of these things. We have faith that He is our Healer and Provider and Comforter and Creator, but this is the faith that's smaller than a mustard seed. We have to cultivate the mustard seed if we want to calm the storm or move the mountain.

“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 28“But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You men of little faith! 29“And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. 30“For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. Luke 12:27-30

If we trust God even in the smallest things He boosts our faith by providing and we then we trust Him more with some medium sized things and He boosts our faith by providing and pretty soon we trust Him for huge life decisions like should I take this job and move half way across the world and He answers and provides and we trust Him more.

Listen to Holy Spirit. He's there trying to get you to hear God's Will. He will tell you what to do in every situation. Trust Him.

Just thoughts :)

My heart is so heavy.
so many things weighing on so many people...so many things weighing on me.
1. how is a child supposed to understand that doing something "wrong", which they probably can't even recognize as being "wrong", or who has had something "wrong" done to them, HOW is the CHILD supposed to understand that there will be LIFELONG consequences?
dont misunderstand me. i know we learn to trust God because we give control of our lives to Him. i know that we grow stronger by the testing. i know that how we handle adversity is how we grow our faith. i am saved, DELIVERED, and healed. but a child cant know. a child can't understand.

lets take for example a very young child raised in a family of extreme physical abuse. child doesnt know its "wrong" child may know it hurts, but has no concept of right/ wrong. child grows up and starts to understand something is not OK about what is going on because the abusing adults always say "you cant ever tell" or child starts to hear things in school about always telling someone if certain things happen to child. but child is told not to tell. child grows up more. feels guilty because they dont really hate this "wrong" thing thats being done. but child still doesnt know its "wrong". finally, child realizes what "wrong" is when they are about 15. someone tells child about Jesus and forgiveness and healing and eternal life. child cries and cries and cries. child cant understand. not really understand. the LIFELONG consequences of the "wrong" things that happened or that they did before they knew it was wrong. LIFELONG physical, mental, emotional, psychological consequences because of something that truly was not preventable that happened to them before they could understand.

how can a child know if theres no grownup on their side? no one to protect them? no one to offer them love?
the child spends their entire life trying to get un-messed up, forget about trying to help other people get un-messed up!

i know there are some, Joyce Meyer, for example, who overcome and become greatly used of God. but mostly they spend their whole lives overcoming.

2. the wars and rumors of wars...my heart breaks from the death that fills the world. so. many. people.

3. the injustice...people that just dont care about other poeple. how can we live like this? how do you wake up and live your secular life and pass by the broken dying people on the streets and not just walk around sobbing all the time? but what can we really do? we are so constricted by our schedules and our money and our worldly obligations and our personal wants...its not supposed to be this way. we're too afraid to reach out to someone because they might be a psycho killer or turn into a stalker or just want to use us. but what if we feel like God is wanting to reach out to someone. but we do and they end up doing something bad to us? how can we step out there and take such a huge risk with our safety, with our very lives on the line when we know our children are at risk if we do?

and how can we justify actors and sports celebrities making millions of dollars a year when thousands and 10's of thousands of people wont eat today, drink from mud puddles, sleep on dirt and make sandals out of used plastic coke bottles?

4. the rampant blatant sin that we keep accepting and allowing more and more to permeate our culture.

5. oh and lets not forget all the laws in place to keep us safe. if we do feel the leading from the Holy Spirit that we should go do something right now and help someone in some urgent way we probably cant because we haven't filed the necessary paperwork first. we haven't passed the background checks and spoken to the right people and followed all the bureaucratic red tape stuff yet. so nope, sorry you cant help today, but maybe if you get all this done today you can help at Christmas, because it typically takes 8-10 weeks to process an application...

all i want to do is cry...God help me...what do i do?

Hello Stillstanding (((hugs)))

God bless you this day.

You do just as you did...you confess it. Your heart is full to overflowing with the Love of God. Reach out to the child, or the adult, ...the person in your path, and ease their pain. Love them the way Jesus would have you love them.

Thank you for sharing what it is that The Lord pressed upon your heart. Thank You Holy Spirit.

God bless and keep you, Stillstanding.
Love,
Mack

StillStanding,
Thank u for sharing the heaviness of your heart here. The main thing I was thinking as I was reading your post was how you were expressing the heart cry of our Lord. I can't help but think our Lord is crying over the same injustices and pain you mentioned. It's so big and we are so small. Just wanted to say thank u for sharing ur heart.

One verse that came to mind for me while reading ur post was:
Psalm 68:5 "God is a father to the fatherless"

4Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Lift up a song for Him who rides through the deserts,
Whose name is the LORD, and exult before Him.

5A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.

6God makes a home for the lonely;
He leads out the prisoners into prosperity,
Only the rebellious dwell in a parched land
Ps. 68:4-6

Thank you Jamie

so during my morning walk....strolling along listening to philippians...my phone rings. i answer it. it's an automated message from my 13 year old daughter's school...

"this is an automated message from blahblahblah school. blahblahblah school is under lockdown at this time due to a serious threat. police are on scene. please do not call the school. please do not come to the school. please do not call 911."

instant panic.

i drop to the ground praying. oh God. oh God. breathe...breathe...don't you know I love her more than you can ever imagine? pray.

i start texting people i know to pray. i hurry home. i run in and sit down at the computer to tell facebook and oasis to pray.

the phone rings.

i hold my breath...and listen.

all clear! whew!

thank you, God!
