Jamie's Day 2

Postby Jamie808 » Sat Jul 20, 2013 1:00 pm

I'm actually doing this thing - woot woot ! Two days in a row. The first day I was confronted with my own pride and ego.
God caught me up short on the amount of ME I saw in my calling. So I've been praying about this. Today's study wasn't quite as jarring. I identify with the theme of asking God WHAT he wants me to do FOR HIM but to truly be available for HIM means I have to live that out in my decisions and actions.

Today I feel some release from the depression I've been feeling this week. One issue I'm wondering about is "my thinking"
It seems so far in both studies that there is a teaching point about not being negative minded. I'm wondering about the difference between "name it and claim it" thinking verses true biblical renewal of the mind ? I would appreciate any input on this point. Thanks a lot !
Blessings

Hello Jamie! Welcome to Oasis *Wave* Glad to see you are making yourself at home here because you are home here. :)

It's beautiful how God speaks to us through the studies. It shows His care and concern for our well being. How wonderful it is to have a God like that.

As far as name it and claim it I don't have any great advice. I would suggest thinking positive which is similar to name it and claim it. If we think negative we are going to draw in negative things. If we think positive we will not only draw in positive things but we will also receive strength from the positive thinking which helps bring about what it is we are seeking. Perhaps instead of name it claim it we could or should pray and give thanks. Pray and expect God to answer according to His perfect will.
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

yes, if you don't have a renewed mind but believe that you have a right to things you name and claim, you will be more disappointed and disillusioned when you don't get what you want and not see that maybe it is not what God wants for you at this time.
I am glad to see that you are doing the study and seeing different because of it :) but I want to warn you now Jamie, there will come a point where it will get very difficult and you will want to quit but don't keep pushing thru and ask for help because you will be amazingly blessed.
