I am your little girl

and you say I am ugly
and you say I am filthy
and you make me feel scared
and you make me feel shame

I am your wife

and you shatter my hopes
and you create my nightmares
and you make me cringe
and you make me sick

I do not say a word
I do what I am told
I stay where I am put
I do not exist except to serve you

Then I realized I DO EXIST!

I WAS your little girl, who used to be scared
I WAS your wife, who used to cringe

I was neither to you
I was a thing to be used and abused

But I have a real Father!
I have a loving Father!
I have a Father who forgives!
and I Father who restores faith!
