I am lying here in my bed,
I want to be filled with peace,
But my mind plays images of you instead.
Down comes the blade of release,
And out flows a sea of red.
It seems as though my pain will cease.

He has filled my heart with dread,
And kept me attached to his leash.
He's made me cold, and I've felt dead.
He hungered for me like a rabid beast.
He consumed me as I wish I had fled.
Attacked as though I'm a soon ending feast.

I'm left wounded and torn like a disease,
He laughed and threatened me from overhead.
I cowered because it's him I had to please.
Feeling stained from doing what he said.
Crying out tonight to feel God's peace,
Help me to relax as I lay here in my bed.
