Day 1?

Postby notjustanumber » Fri Mar 23, 2012 6:41 am

Well I am not totally sure I am doing this right but to my best understanding this is the first step I am supposed to do....I understand that I am supposed to go to the spirit of truth and post my thoughts and feelings and what has brought me to the place where I am now and become better friends with the Holy Spirit.

I say better because I have been walking with the Lord for close to thirteen years now and I have always felt as if I had a great relationship with the Holy Spirit. However, when I read the page about the Spirit of Truth....I really see that I still have room to grow and new things to learn about Him.

What brought me here? I am the mother of a teenage daughter who is really having a difficult time dealing with the man that I married four years ago. This causes her to act in terrible ways. The man I married four years ago is called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I met him he had three years sober and we had a really rough start just learning how to be married but at least he was sober. We got to go all around churches and preach and I got to lead worship. God used him in healing and me in the prophetic. It was super exciting.

Then the bottom fell out. He went back to crack and my life has not been the same since. We are in and out of my home for safety as he is in and out of sobriety. He is trying and fighting but this pull is so strong. It seems as if we are loosing ground everyday. I live with the anxiety that this could be the day that a police officer will come to my door and tell me that he is dead or in jail.

I needed to change my locks the other night because he went back. So now me and my daughter are living at my moms. He is living in the house. He truly has no where else to go. Everyone else has given up on him. His own mother and father will not speak to him for years.

I still believe in my husband. He is amazing at "shaking back".....if he can just connect with God again I know everything will be okay. It seems as if every day the things he says and does though proves that in his mind and heart he is getting a little bit further away everyday.

I recognize that I need help too....that is why I put the words "Free Christian Online Counseling" in Google and found this site. I really like it. I honestly feel thankful for it.

I feel very uncomfortable sharing all of this honest stuff. I also recognize that I have been keeping a lot of secrets and that is not working to well.

Hi my new sister in Christ.
I see you got your name change, I do not have any answers only prayers for you, your daughter and your husband
I hear what you are saying of the church and it may be judgement or they may be seeing a lot more clear than you are due to the love you have for your husband....PLEASE do not take that wrong I am NOT saying abandon him I am happy that you are willing to stick it out BUT just be careful that what may destroy him does not destroy you as well, he can only be helped if he chooses and crack does not allow you to have a choice after so long of doing it as with many addictions.
The issues with your daughter acting out and the church being judgemental and his addiction are ALL things that God can show you how to handle (the teenage thing just remember all teenagers are rough to handle) but I imagine by your post it is not the typical stuff. as for the church I don't know your church BUT I do know there are a lot of judgemental churches as well as people themselves that feel if you do anything like drinking, drugs or even other things you are not right with God and they do not KNOW God as we do, you see God wants us to come to Him as we are and allow Him to heal us = with God ALL things are possible, He does not want just the ones that do no wrong He wants the broken and hurt as well.
Some see God as this very strict forceful God, I do not I see Him as my earthly father only bigger and even more forgiving
Yes my earthly father beat my behind with a belt growin up, he even snatched me up by the wrap of my neck or hair (I really hated that) BUT he ONLY done that when it was needed, when I was being unreasonable or out of control, other than that my father loved me and provided for me and forgave me for all I done wrong (like sticking him in the back with a yard dart I threw wildly into the air OR playing in his truck and starting it while it was in gear and it backed into the fence messing up his truck AND the fence) point is he probably don't even remember without me reminding him that I done those things......sound familuar??? God forgives and forgets it is US that reminds.
PLEASE look DEEPLY into the counseling pages and if possible encourage your husband to do the same, and know we will open our arms to you both as children of God and a brother and sister of ours *hug*
I along with others here are VERY slow to judge IF we would at all, I will not say we are perfect because we are not but we will love and support you as you need.
Also encourage your daughter to come here there is a large awesome teen only area, this is an awesome site for all
PLEASE try NOT to feel uncomfortable here, we are family here and love each other as such and we ALL have our on burdens that we carry BUT we carry them together and it makes for a lighter load.
I hope to hear more from you and also to hear of God's blessings pouring out onto you and your family
May God wrap His loving arms around you and give you peace, God bless. *Pray*
Your new friend and brother in Christ
Cuc *hug*

Hello Notjustanumber :)

God bless you this day. And, welcome to Christianity Oasis. I am so glad The Lord led you here.

Awwwwww, The Spirit of Truth! I love the Study, and I love Him...The Spirit of Truth...The Holy Spirit. He, is truly, my very best Friend, and He desires to be your very best Friend, also. I encourage you to embrace the study, fully, and all the scripture that is within the study. Meditate upon The Word with Him -- He'll show you things that will lead you throughout each day, and into eternity: from now until forever.

From what you have shared, your husband needs help, more help than just a new lock on a door. I do not judge him because I know the enemy of our souls, Satan, is behind any addiction. However, the addiction has overpowered your husband to the point that you and your daughter need to be separated from him. I am glad you are at your mother's house. I thank The Lord for intervening and providing a place for you and your daughter.

I know when the future seems so confusing and uncertain, we can go to a desperate place. But, I know another place -- a very special place -- that is only accessed by communing with The Lord. Allow The Lord to take you there, comfort you, and lead you. It is in that place, that you'll find the answers and healing you need. He can be trusted. Worry not about tomorrow, but fill today with The Lord.

I hope to get to know you better, Notjustanumber, and perhaps even see you in Chat, sometime. We're a big family here, and I'm so happy that you are now a member of that family. God is so very Good!!!

My prayers rise to The Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed and perfect will be done.

God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Hi Sister Mack!

Yes very nice meeting you too....I have not seen any chat rooms yet...seems like a lot to learn on this site :) I went to an Al-Anon meeting today. It was my first one ever. Someone said something that made me feel so much better and they were'nt even talking to me....guess the Holy Spirit was :) She said....It's okay to love your addicted person. This made me feel so much better because everyone in my world is making me feel as if I should hate him and want to abandon him. He has done some awful things and I am very angry with him....but I love him so much and I have been feeling guilty about that like it was something wrong :(

Hello Notjustanumber :)

Praise God!!! I'm so glad you went to the Al-Anon meeting, and that you "heard" truth!!! Yeah!!! God is so very Good!!!

The Lord wants us to love. God is Love, and He is the Healer. Love Heals!!!

Across the top of the screen you'll see 8 Tabs, the first Tab is Home (which will refresh your screen), the second Tab is the Chat Tab, and the 8th Tab is to log out. Go ahead and explore all the Tabs, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. We've all explored, and even after 6 1/2 years of being a member, I still come across a feature, now and again, that I say "Cool, a new button, I haven't tried" lol small pleasures *BigGrin*

It is a real pleasure to have you here, Notjustanumber. We have members from all around the world. I love this big family God has given us all. Oh, and by the way, we have a Chat calendar too -- there are some awesome chat programs in the evening hours -- and all the times listed are (Eastern Time -- standard or daylight savings -- depending on the time of year) Most evenings, between the hours of 8pm (Eastern) and Midnight (Eastern) is when we find the most people gathered in Chat, but it is open 24/7. Hope to see ya there sometime.

Prayers continue to rise to our Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed and perfect will be done.

God bless and keep you.
Love,
Sister Mack
