Hello
Just a little history... I grew up a Christian (saved when I was 4, my mom was a Sunday school teacher. Baptized at 11) and some bad stuff happened when I was 18. Went into a deep depression. Didn't care too much for Christians, so I stopped going to church. I told God I'd still stick with him, but without fellowship I slipped further and further away. I'm 24 now and really want to get back right with God. In fact, I've made it my new years resolution. I moved away from my childhood hometown and I don't know any Christians here. I found a church up here and I went last week. After years of trying to get back to God and never sticking with it or getting so discouraged I just gave up, I heard from God on Sunday. I am so very excited!! I've been pretty active in another forum (for quitting smoking) and so I thought about finding a Christian forum, that's how I ended up here. I love this idea! Sometimes in my daily quiet time I have questions about scriptures I read, but I have no one to bring those questions to. So now I'll ask here and hopefully get some insight! I have social anxiety disorder, so it's very hard for me to talk to people face to face. It's been a real challenge finding and going to a church by myself, but God is helping me do it.
I love the studies that are listed on this site and hope to work my way through several of them. I appreciate any prayers and thank you for making this forum available to me!

Re: Hello
Thank you so much Lani!
I didn't say I had quit smoking On March 21, 2011 I stopped carrying a pack around with me, but my husband still smokes and although I go days without one, sometimes I have one with him. I am striving for not smoking any, but I haven't reached that goal quite yet. Thanks for the kind words though, didn't mean to be misleading.
Thank you for the tips on navigating around the site. I will definitely check out the chat schedule. I've never attended one of those so I'll have to figure out how those work. And thanks for the time clarification, those can be confusing at times. Now I know though
Thank you again for the kind welcome.

WELCOME TO OASIS BONES!!!
I am so glad you found this site! I found this site last September, and have been addicted ever since. The people here are very nice (and if someone isnt to nice, well, I am going to have to beat them . joking). I love helping people, giving hugs, and giving advice. If you ever need anything (no matter how big or small) don't hesitate to PM me. And I love making new friends, so don't be suprised if you recieve a friend request from me. I can't wait to chat with you.
With love and hugs,
Kaylee

Re: Hello
Thank you so much Kaylee! I am so happy to have found this forum!! I think it is an awesome idea and I've already told several people about it who I think could benefit from the studies, help and fellowship of the people here. I received and accepted your friend request thanks! I'm not sure how much I'll be able to participate in the cahtroom, but hopefully I will be able to get in there at some point.
Lol Lani, you have a good point! I just noticed your actual sentence. Sorry, I guess I'm just a little disappointed I haven't been able to kick it completely. Thank you for the reassurance, encouragement and prayers though!
I am so excited tonight! I got a call from one of the women I met at church Sunday and I'm planning on attending a Bible study on Friday. And I'm jamming out to Christian music at work I even called my mom the other day and told her about my decision to seek God and thanked her for praying for me all these years.

Re: Hello
Thank you for the words of encouragement M1! Over the years I've tried many things to help cope with life and it's many anxieties. Drugs (not prescribed) and alcohol seemed to help but I knew they weren't the right way to go, and it could get me into alot of trouble. I knew where I needed to turn but I had a hard time connecting with God. Now that I am, I am so excited to see what He will do with me and in my life! I went to a Bible study for the first time tonight and I prayed all day that He would give me peace. I was still a little stressed, but I got there, met everybody, hung out and had a really good time!
I hope you are having a great weekend! And thank you again
