Please allow me to first clear the table and let it be known to all that whatever it is I am about to write here is only a reflection of my own understanding , and has no bearing at all on what the site Christianity Oasis's mission or what the site stands for . It is merely my opinion , and that I am doing this in order for me to grow , and to share in the spirit of "Iron sharpens Iron"

A question was tossed in chatroom last night as to whether should we (I'm assuming us , as Christians) forgive Osama Bin Laden . After a brief give'n'take , what the whole thing amounted to was , "He worships (or rather worshipped) Allah " .

Personally , statements like that sadden me a bit . In my journey , I had encountered more Christians that are all too careful not to use satan's name (cruddy , enemy , whimp , punk ) than they are , or should be careful of using God's ! - "Thou shall not use thy Lord's name in vain" - . In fact , the Jews (forefathers of Christiany) made it CLEAR not to say or write His Name at ALL .

The point . .. Asdvadz , Gott , El , Teo , Dios , Dieux , and yes even Allah .... let us suppose , I was to use any of these Names mentioned , what does that make me ? Oh , by the way ... the Names mentioned , All , are saying God !

So , should we not forgive people because they are worshipping God ? Or we should withold our forgiveness just because they did not use the English name of our Lord . How is it possible for us to spread the News to "non-believers" if we didn't forgive them first ? .... SOME and I stress the word SOME , of the Jews , for whom He was sent to save , killed Him , yes , killed God ! and He said ... "yep , they don't know " ... Is there anywhere in Sripts that says , "kill them because they killed me first" ? Besides , let us suppose we do just that , who do we have left to carry the Message to ?

I myself , don't know Osama , or his private life . All I know of him is what I have HEARD of him and the actions he had taken (which I deem most heinous) ... but , it also strikes me absurd to not forgive a man just because he uses his own language in worshipping , well , God !

Hate is hate !!! ,,, That is NOT what our Lord came here and died for !!!

As usual you have hit the nail on the head as far as I'm concerned.
We call ourselves CHRISTians and then do things our Lord would NEVER do and judge others.

I wasn't in chat last night...nor did I see the convo, but I do agree with your shared words...God is about love and forgiveness....may we remember this in all our thoughts and actions. Agape...a love that loves even when it's not deserved. Jesus...died because of that Agape....for all to have salvation...

I have to agree with everything said here. Bin Laden was taught hatered. I know of several groups of people who use the English term of "God" and live in and out of that same hatered just because of skin color or religious differences...and say it's God's will that they should hate and kill!! Hatered is hatered. Satan will deceive whomever he can!
