The Holy Bible!
Part of a devotion i got in a email.....enjoy
The Holy Bible!
What is the shortest chapter in the Bible?
Answer - Psalms 117; with only 2 verses!
What is the longest chapter in the Bible?
Answer - Psalms 119; with 176 verses!
Which chapter is in the center of the Bible?
Answer - Psalms 118
There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118.
There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118.
Add up the 594 plus 594, and you get 1188.
Now what is the center verse in the Bible?
Answer - Psalms 118:8
"It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put
confidence in man. " ( Psalms 118:8 )
Now I ask you, does this verse say something significant
about God's perfect will for our lives? Well yes, indeed it
does!
So the next time someone says they would like to find
God's perfect will for their lives, or that they want to be in the
center of His will, just send them to the center of His Holy
Word, for the answer will be found there!

Re: The Holy Bible!
Do you ever ask yourself "Is our Bible really what God intended. Was it supposed to be 66 books? Maybe more, maybe less? Are these the right books? We all tend to take it on faith because we have all been taught to do so. We know that Jesus reads and references many of the Old testament books but the book of Jude makes reference to a scripture that we have no knowledge about. So how are we to be sure? God told us in Exodus 25:31-37 where Moses is being directed to make the furnishings of the temple and specifically here the Lamp-stand (miss translated as candlestick). As with all the furniture of the temple each speaks of Jesus and here He is the light of the World. But it also represents "His Word" which "is a Lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path". The lamp stand is described as having seven lamps, one in the center and 3 each proceeding from each side as the Jewish menorah is depicted. Then each of the six "arms" is given 3 decorations, 3 bowls, 3 knops and 3 flowers or nine decorations each. The center lamp had 4 sets of decorations or 12 total. Therefore the total for all side lamp decorations is (9x3) 27 and so if we look at the menorah as a set of numbers we have 9 + 9 + 9+12 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 66 (books of the Bible) further divided into the left side plus center = 39 books and right side = 27 books. God told us what our Bible would look like way back in the beginning of the temple. Enjoy
