A family in need
Well last night I met a family who just moved in accross the street from my sister about a month ago. It is a woman and her 3 kids, ages 10, 12 and 13. About a month ago, their mother was in the hospital and while Mom was in the hospital, the kids stayed with one of their aunts. So, when the mom gets out of the hospital and they return home, they discover that they have been robbed! The robbers took, LITERALLY EVERYTHING! They stole all the kids' toys, clothes, all the furniture, you name it and it was taken. They moved because it was obviously a bad neighborhood. My sister recently found out that they have been sleeping on the floor because they have no furniture. The only thing in the house is a t.v. They are eating off of paper plates and share the plastic ware that they eat off of. To wash their clothes, their mother washes them in a bucket!! The kids are terrible depressed and cry all of the time. The daughter, who is 13 is terriffied to leave her mother's side! Last night our church had their annual swim party at this water park called Splash City. My sister and I picked them up and took them with us. The daughter, absolutely would NOT leave her mother's side, while the boys played and had sooo much fun!!! Their mother was crying because she said that that was the first time in a month that she had seen them smiling and laughing and having fun! Her daughter did venture a few steps out and put her feet in the water, but that was it. These poor kids came to this swim even wearing regular clothes because they have no swim suits and had no towels to dry off with. At one point their mother had to get up to go do something and her daughter just huddled under a hot blanket in 100 degree weather because she was just so terriffied because her mother had left. My sister said that she just kept saying over and over again, "I don't want my mom to leave me. I don't want her to ever leave me". It is soooo sad! But most amazing of all is that they are believers and they are still praising Jesus through all of this! As a result of our church party, their spirits were lifted and they were saying that they wanted to rededicate their lives to Jesus and be baptized again! It was absolutely amazing to see what God did through just one swim party! All glory be to God! Since this family does not have a car, I am hoping to start taking them to church with me every Sunday! I KNOW from my own personal experience that my church can really minister and reach out to those who are hurting so I know if they would just come, they would find such peace and healing!

Thank you for sharing that. Made me teary. I will be praying for them. God bless them. May the Lord return to them more than what was taken. Amazing though how through tragedy He brought them all back to Him.
Sounds like you have a wonderful church.

I am praying for this family and hoping that God will bring them what they need and that the church will reach out to them and they will see the love of God.
