please pray for my son 15
My son needs prayers please. He is trying out for baseball again. He made it by the grace of God last year. He has been working so hard. He makes so many errors because of his mental state. I feel like Ive screwed up his self confidence and do not know how to help him get past the thoughts he tells himself. I am looking into a sports psychologist however I know that God is the best psychologist of all. It is just so painful for my son to keep repeating the same exact mistakes and then teat himself apart. Oh it hurts us to see him suffer so. We counsel him and lead him back to Jesus. He is struggling so.Please pray for our 15 year old son.
Thank you very much,
Diane

Such a difficult age. In a few years basketball will not be the most important thing in his world. This will pass. Though in the mean time you wait and watch as your heart breaks. Reminds me of our heavenly Fathers desire for us to find what is the most valuable thing in our lives....Him and the relationship with Him.
Praying His heart accepts what is most important and that he finds his self worth in Christ Jesus. Gods will be done.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Diane, will pray for your son. That it goes well for him in the long run.
Of course, there is no moral problem with sports in God's eyes, but Pine makes a good point that in a few years, God willing, it will not be such a mentally challenging area of his life.
I can speak from experience. As a youth I was a promising athlete with big hopes, but was utterly gutted when I had to accept that I was not good enough to progress to higher levels with it. Now, more than a decade on, I wouldn't have it any other way.
If your son can progress with his sport, praise be to God for that. Whether it's to be a big part of his future or no big part at all, I will pray to The Lord that His will be done in your son's life, and it be well with your son's soul.

Praying for your son ........ especially that he is able to start to hear, believe and cling to God's truth in place of the lies he is hearing and holding on to ...... may the Lord bless him and also sustain and give you peace and help all of you; giving guidance and wisdom and his precious help
