My Chains are Gone......or are they?!
One of my favorite songs is "Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone". I first heard this song when I went on my Emmaus Walk in March of 2009. I was going through a very difficult time in my life at that point...divorce after a 20 year marriage. That song touched my heart so much and I knew then that I had to label and get rid of all of my chains that were weighing me down. I thought that I had done that, but I've picked some of those chains back up and they are heavier than ever!!!
I found this site by doing a search and I am so thankful that Ifound it! I began my 14 day journey yesterday and have already been blessed! I'm praying that with each day I am able to break my chains once and for all and never pick them up again!
I want to share each day the chain that I have been able to get rid of! My first chain is PRIDE! I did not want to admit that I had any problems! AFter all, growing up in a christian home I'm not supposed to have all of these problems, right?!Wrong! I am only human, but with God ALL things are possible and with Him I'm going to get rid of these horrible chains!
Chain #1 Pride - Pride goeth before a fall! I've conquered this chain by admitting and accepting that I have alot of problems and I'm ready to get help! I'm thankful for everyone on this site that is so supportive and nonjudgemental! I know that with you and God I will defeat Satan!
God bless all of you!

Hi livin4Christ, welcome aboard. I think you made a major step on this path, by admitting one of the hardest things to admit...that you are prideful. We all are....and it's something the enemy will use on us time and time again, if we don't learn to be humble...I've seen it myself so many times in my own walk. Learning we don't need recognition or acceptance from anyone but God....tough to do...cuz people just naturally crave control and attention. It's like undoing a habit...it will take time...but you can do it.
Take care and God Bless

Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Hi Livin
to
It was a blessing to meet ya in chat last night
Amen! Through Him, all things ARE possible. I am certain you are not here by accident like each of us, this is simply His plan being orchestrated each day in our lives.
Pride.... ahhh yes, pride is a toughie. This chain requires careful vigilance to keep from picking it up once more. Awesome you have overcome!!!
Lookin forward to this journey in healing sis
Prayers remain always.
Peace n Luv in Christ,
Lani
