This forum is a sanctuary for those who are experiencing trials and tribulation and seek words of wisdom, comfort and TRUTH from fellow Christians who have experienced similar trials and tribulation and have overcome them. Never forget that we ALL fall down as we sojourn down this Christian Walk. The trick is to get up and carry on fighting the good fight of FAITH. One of the greatest gifts that our Father gave to Christians is ... Fellow Christians. James 5:16 ... Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. John's Journal Day 9

Postby humblevisitor » Fri Jun 10, 2011 3:29 pm

Today as I read this step and took time to reflect on my life and see what I needed to change, I found myself fighting a wave of self-pity and felt a little hopeless again. Instead of letting it run its course though I did some of the things I have learned in here. I prayed, read my Bible for a bit, listened to some music, and got busy doing something. I also physically told Satan all those things were lies and spoke the truth against them out loud to myself. I believe that was the most effective thing of all.
Most of the new habits I want to establish are on my miracle grow chart but I think I will put Speaking the truth out loud in there. Also I want to exercise every day for 30 minutes... I think that will help too. Two to get rid of...my language at work around the guys...enough said I think. And I am going to quit staying around the house on my days off. I will make it out to the mall or the park or go fishing or whatever for at least some part of the day on my days off. May not sound like much but it's time to get back out into the world.

*BigGrin* You are really doing well on your jouney. Its good to recognize when satan puts those lies in our heads and we can use what we know to turn it around. I battle with a lot of sadnesss....and I speak out loud to rebuke the bad thoughts and it does help. Exercising is great too even if it is just a quick walk around the block or at a park. Its go to keep busy and get out and enjoy life. *Pray* Sometimes old habbits like bad language is hard to break and I will be praying for you on that one!!

"What bothers me most is acting one way one place and one way another"

Most "Christians" would say ... "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww" or "I will pray for you for being at the place YOU are on the Christian walk" ...

BUT ... The TRUTH is that most souls ARE doing the same thing.

We must CHOOSE to understand that when we walk down a dark alley and (for whatever reason) determine that we must turn around and walk the other way, that it oft times takes as much time to walk out, as it did to walk into that darkness.

With ONE exception ... When one chooses to return to the Lord, from such a journey, one tends to hold the candle of HOPE which makes the way out a much LIGHTER journey ...

But ... IF Truth be told, we DO tend to take pit stops at times. (In particular when the enemy of our soul lures us to do so by bringing forth ISSUES ... You know the ones. Where family, friends or other issues from past habits, addictions or whatevahhhhhhhhhhhh are involved.

But, here is our HOPE !!!

GOD UNDERSTANDS !!!

Sharing what you have done within this forum ... IS halfway HOME.

Continuing on in FAITH ... That it is NOT what WE can do or can NOT do, but rather what HE can do within us, as we CHOOSE to continue to travel (CRAWLING if need be) towards HIM ... IS the other half.

Here is Wisdom ... Be as patient on GOD, as you sojourn back to HIS path from YOUR choices (Or choices of others which placed us in the darkness) as He was and IS with you.

Luv ya
Jesus is coming ... Get your soul prepared.
