Hello ashellic

Although I am in recovery from multiple addictions and have dealt with each one of them the same way - through Reliance on our Lord and working the 12 steps (14 here in CCCC) - and also , though my belief is toward "an addiction is an addiction" , but I do have a healthy respect to the varieties of them as well .

I myself have not any sufficient knowledge on the subject of eating disorders , but our attention should be focused on the recovery from whatever addiction we have that is causing the problem rather than the substance or the means of the addiction themselves , agree ?

I am sure someone will catch the title of your post , of which I am absolutely thankful for , and offer their own experience suggestions and support .
I am here to offer any thing possible .

Keep up the good work .

Luv ya
In Christ , our Lord

Hi ashellic,

I have faced an eating addiction most of my life. For the most part I've learned to control it more than I use to, by the grace of God...but I have to be careful with my food choices as well as how much I choose to eat.

I pray for you ashellic. I'm not sure exactly what kind of eating issues you are facing, but God does...and He will help you if you will allow Him too.

Welcome to the Oasis hun.

Take care and God Bless

Hi, I know that this was posted a few months back, but I am as well struggling with an eating disorder. I have dealt with it for 20 years now, and have been taking steps to move beyond the entrapment that it can seem to have your life in. In may of last year, I fell back into being anorexic and bulimic. I felt like my life was going great only days before, and I was back involved in ministry again. I fought for awhile, but was not strong enough. I held onto God's promises and His promise of true freedom. God and I are fighting through this together, and I still believe that there is going to be victory in my life, and I know that He can do the same for all who are dealing with an eating disorder. I know that the first step is believing that God can bring you through even this. though there can be many days that seem to feel hopeless, it is one step at a time. I Believe, and I believe in you. I know that God is bigger than an eating disorder, and He has a beautiful purpose for your life. The True Beauty is when you find who you are in Christ Jesus.

Hi beteubner...I agree God can bring us through any trial in life...and in fact one day we are promised that we shall overcome...when we get to Heaven...until then we work through each day with Him by our side and just do the best that we can...even on the days when our best is less or on days our best is more.

Prayers for you.

Take care and God Bless

Hello, everyone,

For all you who do not know me, I have just come home to C.O. I, too struggle with an ED, which I tried to hide for many years until the Lord sent me to a Christian therapist and am working on it with him and Jesus as my support. I used to be so embarassed to talk about it, and still have a harad time with it, but am learning that I am not alone, ever though I have always felt very alone with it. I am excited and glad to be home and will support all of you as you support me also! *band*
Blessings to all,
Love ya,
Amy.

Hiya! I am new here myself and saw your post. I struggle with anorexia myself. It really stinks, and some days you feel you just don't hardly have the energy to even get up out of bed. Life can feel so lonely when you are fighting this awful thing! I hope you are doing well, all of you who struggle with this

Hi Cablesmom! I know this life can be lonely, especially when you have an eating disorder. Sometimes you feel as though you are the only one who has one, but you are not alone. We will support each other. Tomorrow I have to go grocery shopping and have to try to buy all healthy stuff. That's a challenge for me.
