Easy Craft Ideas needed
This summer my church is doing Vacation Bible School for the elderly residents of the convalescent centers in my area. I volunteered to do crafts. I need some easy craft ideas...that would go along with our theme...which are the Parables of Jesus. Any ideas?
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Re: Easy Craft Ideas needed
I have a idea or 2
decopauge bible verses onto wood, depending on size you could do them on real slices of wood (logs or limbs) it turns out very nice I actually put some of my poetry on them and or pictures
I don't know if this is what you are wanting but I did this with the youth group and to my surprise they liked it and was into it I took popcicle sticks and made crosses and put them into green play doh the sticks were covered with red and white glitter
I used the colors to signify His blood -red, His pureness - white, His creation - green or put it on string or yarn I used red for it to signify His continuous love unending (necklace)
the verses would work best I think cause you can have your plagues made up so all they do is pick the favorite verse and shellac it onto the wood and it more personal because they pick the favorite also drill a little indent into back for a hanger or use toothpicks and smaller holes at an angle for stands if they are small enough

Very cool!
Neat ideas CUC
Parable of the lamps - make candles
Parable of the sewer - paint small clay flower pots
Parable of the mustard seed - Make cards with the parable in it and stickers of gardening tools on the front...could even glue mustard seeds to the bottom part of the card
Parable of the pearl - string white beads to make necklace or bracelets. Or something with sea shells
The parable of the lost sheep - take white yarn and make a pom pom out of it...use googlie eyes and black felt cut in the shape of a lambs face and black pipe cleaners for legs. You can put piece of ribbon around it so they can hang it up.
The Good Samaritan - Make book marks to give
The House on the Rock - Find sooth round rocks to paint and make paper weights out of
The Prodigal Son - the dad threw a party when the son came home so how about making party hats

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Re: Easy Craft Ideas needed
I made these with a group of people for a craft fair at our church. They are pretty easy and look nice too, and many people really enjoyed using them as well. They are bookmarks with ribbon and beads or bracelets with colored beads, each color representing the fruits of the Spirit, for example Love-gold; Joy-purple, Peace-blue, Patience-amethyst, Kindness-crystal, Goodness-light pink, Faithfulness-dark green, Gentleness-light green, Self Control-yellow.
Plastic canvas works nicely to make bookmarks and you can decorate it easily with ribbons and anything else that you feel looks nice.
Hope this helps a little.
Sincerely,
Breezy
