Through Our Darkest Tunnels

Postby Coffeebandit » Sat Nov 03, 2007 5:21 pm

Please be patient as you read this. This is to give God the Glory and Praise on how he Can bring you through the darkest tunnels. Most of us have been through a death of a loved one. Our hearts ache so bad, it feels like it's ripping out. In 1992 I worked at a factory and my baby sister Cheryl was watching my son Preston who was 4 at the time. She had a son also, David Allen who was 3. At that time in my life I had a burden on my heart for my family to seek and turned to God, which I had prayed to God to use me as his tool. David was my good buddy and everybody's Angel. He was Heaven Sent on a mission, I believe. He was born without an eye and eventually got a glass eye. This little buddy of mine would put his own eye back in when it would fall out. And oh how he loved the thunder. He would stand at the door to to hear it. My life back then just had to be on a routine schedule, supper fixed, dishes done, etc. All this had to be done at a certain time. March, 20th, Friday, I was on my way home when I got stopped for Speeding (yes,me) and got a ticket for Tinted Windows! March 27th, a week later, of course I was in that hurry to get home as schedule. I jumped in my truck with Preston, started to back out and my niece yelled, STOP! David Allen. I jumped out of the truck, went around to the front of it and there laid my little buddy on the pavement. I had not seen him run to get his truck away from my truck. Cheryl came running out and tried to help him, she called out to me to do CPR, but I froze in my tracks. 911 was called, they transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. He had died instantly when he hit the pavement. At the hospital I told Chery Preston was hers now to raise him as her own since I took her only son away from her, that's the least I could have done. Of course she refused to. March 29th was the funeral, it was started to rain. The were cars lined up as far as you could see them.Underneath the tent it started pouring down rain and the thunder was so loud. As the service came to a close, my Aunt from Indiana took a picture of the Eastern Sky because she wanted to show her husband how the clouds look. She got home, dropped off the film and forgot about it until the man from the store called her to tell her, "You ought to see this one picture." She sent it my sister and to our amazement and encouragement it was Jesus In The Clouds with his arms stretch over. (I feel his arms were over us). And to the right side of his shoulder was Our Little Buddy. He was even in the clothes he was buried in. This picture soon went nation wide and was on the big Channel 2 News. We had made over 1000 copies of this picture to send to ppl all over. This picture touched many lives and lives were saved. Even me, there was a lesson to learn. First, God's voice comes in a whisper sometimes, it did with me. I believe with me getting stopped for speeding, it was God telling to slow down and I didn't. Second, I learned to be obedient more to his whisper. Third, be careful what you pray for, you made be surprise on the answer. People wonder why Cheryl didn't hate me, she had the Love of God in her and a Forgiving Heart. Thank You Jesus! Little David would have been 19 this past August. Cheryl got pregnant and 7 months to the day we buried David, we had to buried another one of hers. The baby had died while she was carrying him. If you ever meet Cheryl, she is wonderful, full of God's Spirit. She's my best friend and My Angel. She was there encouraging me and I was encouraging her, the best way I knew how. The guilt I had almost over took me but God came through for me. To this day, I get emotional. Yes this was one of the darkest tunnel but God came through with the Light at the end. So remember, just know God is Our Only Strength and he does walk with us through our darkest tunnels. Reach out to him and you will Survive and Overcome it!! Love Deb

Deb I cannot thank you enough for sharing this with us sis. I cannot imagine the guilt and pain you must have gone through, and I am thankful that you did not allow it to hinder God's plan for you. You are such a loving person and I have been blessed to have even the little conversations that I have had with you. (Hope there will be lots more to come). Your mention about the photo gave me chills :) God sends us all here for a reason that goes above and beyond what we usually think our purpose to be. And when we have accomplished that He will bring us back home. Little David is with the Lord. Death is never an easy thing to face, and when it happens in the way it did with your situation, there is ample opportunity for blame, resentment and anger. Unless we give it all to Him and know that He is in control, like you and your sister did. I pray continued peace and joy and blessings into the lives of you and your family. Thank you for sharing this powerful testimony of God's Love, I know it will be a light to many of those who are in that dark tunnel today.

God bless u always Deb *hug*
