Tam, I say short prayers throughout the day...it's easier for me than to try and remember everything I want to talk with God about. So for example if I tell someone in the counseling forum that I'm praying for them, I will stop immediately and say a short prayer for them. This way prayer time is continually but not drawn out to the point that I would get "bored" per say. Not saying that prayer is boring...but if I pray too long the enemy will try and divert my attention away from praying and onto other topics...Therefore, for me short prayers off and on all day are best.
Pray as the Spirit leads you sis.
luv ya

Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Yes mlg...I do that . If I say that I am going to pray for someone I stop right there and pray a prayer for them. My memory is to short to remember everything at the end of the day. Then if I think about them or see their name...I pray again for them.
Thanks for sharing

Hmmm not talk to Him about small stuff? If He is your friend then talk to Him the way you would if you were spending the entire day with a friend.
Wouldn't ya ask a friend what you should cook for dinner or which way to take to the grocery store. What to do with free time.
love you!

To me praying is talking to God no matter if it is formal or if it is said in a casual way. By that I mean not chatting with God about everything but thanking Him for stuff He has done. I am not sure how to explain it but I hope you get the drift.
Ok let me try to word this different....I "chat" with God all day on and off. What I am trying to say here is that sometimes the "chatting" is replaced with the Thank Him and Praise Him for the things He is done in my life. Nothing but that ex. Jesus I just want to thank you for giving me a beautiful day and for allowing me to see you beauty.
Does that make better sense?

Seek the voice of the HOLY SPIRIT in your soul.
He WILL speak to you IF you LISTEN AND EVEN TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO DO AND SAY WHEN CONFRONTED WITH PROBS.
This is somthing that I am learning and that I am learning to trust inside of me. I know that the Holy Spirit is my comforter, counselor, guide, friend..whatever it is I need. HE is always with me but it also said that He has feelings and that He could leave me. I don't understand that.
It also said that we can feel the Holy Spirit but I thought that we could not base things on feelings because our feeling lie to us.
Think I may camp here for a little while until I understand this a little better.

The Holy Spirit LIVES IN you.
1 Corinthians 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth IN you?
1 Corinthians 6:19 ... What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is IN you, which ye have of God .......
So, do not imagine it as Him packing up and abandoning you when you hurt Him by doing things ya KNOW that He does not approve of.
Think of it more like ...
If you lived with your best friend who trusted in you and they chose to start doing something you were NOT gonna be around and you nudged em not to do it, but they said whatevahhhhhhh and did it anyway ...
Would you not walk away for a bit as to show em your feelings about it?
But, would you not also return to make sure they knew ya loved em, just wanted what was best for em?
So, try as hard as ya can not to grieve Him ...
Ephesians 4:30 ... And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
And if ya do, He is one quick prayer to God away ...
Luv ya

Always ... A prayer away.
Unless ... You blaspheme the Holy Spirit.
The ONLY unforgiveable sin.
Mark 3:28-29 ... Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

Hello Tam
God bless you this day.
You said:
We often use the same word for different things, and the word "feelings" is sometimes used in very different ways. Some use it in conjunction to our emotions, and sometimes it is used as like a 6th sense. We have 5 senses: sight, smell, touch, hearing, taste. Well, with The Holy Spirit, we have a 6th sense -- we sense Him. We most likely don't see Him, or smell Him, nor can we touch Him, and we don't hear Him with our physical ears, and we don't taste Him -- but Oh, can we sense Him. Wooooohooooo!!!
So if we say we can feel The Holy Spirit, it has less to do with our emotions, but with the this 6th sense. And when we sense Him, He'll sometimes enhance our other senses too, and no doubt the fruit of The Holy Spirit (love, peace, joy, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control) get stirred within us
I hope this helps.
God bless and keep you, Tam.
Love,
Mack
