step 4 -The Path

Postby sbennett » Wed Sep 22, 2010 10:44 pm

 Another day on my path. This one is about forgiveness....of others and of myself. I do believe in forgiving others no matter what. It is pointless to hold on to anger and resentment against another person. I do have trouble forgiving myself. And today I learned that feelings of guilt are really just self pity. Oh geez....I hate being pitiful! The verse says our sins are separated from us as far as the east is from the west. I have to remember that.
Ok.....this phrase is giving me trouble....LET GO(of the problem) and LET GOD (remove it). I am having so much trouble letting go of the problem(the other man) because for so long I did not want God to remove it! And how terrible is that!! I HAVE asked God to remove it and it is working, but the pain of the loss of it is killing me. And I hate that too. There is a sad empty space left behind...my heart hurts. I do my best to fill that empty space with Godly things...prayer, music, positive thoughts and scripture. Also....fill it with love for my husband. It is still there I know. Please pray the sadness will not win I will feel Joy in the LOrd!

sbennett, I encourage you to begin falling in love with Jesus and your husband again...that love can fill the void....especially the love of Jesus. Spending time with Jesus is the best way...and spending time with your husband as well. We have to die to ourselves to live with Christ...and that means putting away the selfish desires and living what Christ asks. The enemy will do anything to tempt us away from doing that...but just know if you stand strong in your faith....you will be rewarded. Nothing goes unnoticed by God.

Prayers continue for you.

luv ya
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

ooo, ooo, there is a book called, The Five Love Languages that gave me such an insight to how a person sees love. Understood why my husband and son didn't get along after reading it. And realized how he loves me even though he doesn't show it the way that I believe love should be felt.

Yea, forgiving yourself is hard but it is the best thing as you are beginning to see. Sometimes you can fill that emptiness by doing stuff for others. God had me volunteer at the hospital, praying for the patients. Doing for others so we don't think about ourselves *BigGrin*

I do want to fall in love with my husband. I do want a future with my family in our home. I know if I can put God first.....Love Jesus....then it will work. I have seen the book the 5 love languages and I think I need to read it. My husband will read it to....he will read anything you leave in the bathroom...LOL!

Thank you all for the support. It does help.

sbennet.... I think that you and I are on the same road. If you will pull me, I will push you!!! I know that I need to not travel alone, and where there are two, we can count on extra strength!!

It is hard, I am a year out, that empty place of promises Will loose its enticing whisper that pulls on your heartstrings...it is getting weaker and weaker right now.

we are walking and we are Letting GO and ALLOWING God to work HIS way.
