Christianity Oasis Forum

This forum will help us to learn how to use Preventative Maintenance when it comes to our emotions. Renewing our minds daily in Christ helps us to control our emotions and lead a more productive life in Christ instead of being swept away in the whirlwind of emotions this life can throw at us daily.

There are days Im great and days I just want to hide. Im on some good meds. My deppression and suicidal thoughts have been almost non-existent. But, I tend to isolate to the extreme. Its hard to change but Im Believing and Trusting in God. I havent been hospitalized in over 4 years. Not sure anymore...Vernon *help*

awwwwww J. Vernon *hug5* Believing and trusting in God is AWESOME! Also, it's great that you are doing better and having not been hospitalized in so many years.

As far as the isolating thing, well... maybe u could come up with a list of things you would like to do, it could be to get out of the house, or go visit people in rest homes that rarely see others, something that involves stepping outside of yourself so to speak; get involved in a church function or something. It doesn't have to be every day but if you could get out for one hour a week and then when u come back home jot down how you felt while you were out. Now, don't get me wrong, it won't always be fun, but i think if you keep trying you will see that you are happier when out, than when hiding. If crowds bother you, perhaps just get a friend to go hang out in the park, throw a frisbee or ball, or maybe go fishing. idk wat else guys do so thats about the best i can do on the guy thing.

I know when i am depressed its the last thing i wanna do is to get up and do something, I also know that is when i most NEED to make myself do. Otherwise i spiral down real quick.

GBU and its good to see u. Hope to meet in chat soon

*HippiePeace*

Sometimes i too will isolate, especially after a long hard day of work and not wanting to deal with anything. But, looking back, it really didn't help.
